Rev. Alfred Shirley gave the sermon, Rev. Wilfred McKay, the invocation and benediction Karen Lundell played the proces sional and recessional on the organ, and the school choir sang "The Lord's Prayer". The class consists of Gary Brenner, Caro lyn Crabtree, Ernest Drake, Anna Jepsen, Lindsay Kincaid, Judy Mason, Alvin McCabe, James Pryse, Robert Pryse, Keith Rea, Wayne Rietmann, Jean Ann Swanson, and Gerry White; and correspondence Gratuates are Donna Peterson and Darlene Drake. Miss Jacqueline Lee Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Jones of Billings, Mont., and Ed win Lee Crutcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Crutcher of Gres ham, were married Tuesday evening May 15 at the St James Lutheran church in Portland. A reception followed the wedding at the Portland Women's club. Relatives attending the wedding from here were Mrs. Anna Lind strom, grandmother of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lindstrom and Arthur and Roy Lindstrom. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lundell of Portland are the parents of a daughter Julie Marie, born May 17. Weight 8 lbs. and 6 ozs. Mr. and Mrs. Algott Lundell of lone and Mrs. Helen Briggs of Louis ville, Ky are the grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Carlson of Portland are the parents of a son born May 18. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Carlson of lone and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Balch of Cottage Grove are the grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hope and daughter, Sabina, of Eugene are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. the weekend with his parents, Talent Show Given Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Bristow. Auxiliary Elects Mrs. Victor Rietmann was elected president of the American Legion Auxiliary at a meeting May 15 at the Legion hall. Other officers elected were Mrs. Eldon Tucker, 1st vice president; Mrs. G. Hermann, 2nd vice president; Mrs. Cecil Thome, secretary treasurer; Mrs. Edith Nichoson, chaplain; Mrs. Echo Palmateer, historian and Mrs. Robert Jepsen, sergeant at arms. Mrs. John Eubanks and Mrs. Harold Dobyns were elected to go as delegates to the State con vention at Albany in July. Mrs, Eldon Tucker and Mrs. Cecil Thorne are the alternates. In the contest held during the year with the leaders Mrs. Her mann and Mrs. Corliss McLeod, to encourage a better attendance, Mrs. Hermann's side won. The losing side will furnish the en tertainment at the meeting June 5 in the afternoon at the hall. Mrs. Hermann reported send ing a box of clothing to Korea. Old nylon hose are needed at Camp White in Medford for the Veterans to make rugs. Anyone having hose may leave them at the home of Mrs. Victor Riet mann. Mrs. Cleo Drake gave, a read ing on Hiati. Dates to remember: May 26 A food and plant sale at Swanson's store at 1:00 p. m. sponsored by the Garden club. May 30 A Memorial Day pro gram at 10:30 a. m. at the ath letic field sponsored by the American Legion. A potluck din ner will be served at 12:30 at the Legion hall. The public is invited and to bring potluck and visit during the day. Those coming from a distance are also Invited to attend. This dinner will be in Mr. and Mrs. Milton Morgan and daughter, Marilyn, Mr. and Mrs. Clvde Crawford and son, Neil, and Mrs. Wate Crawford were Portland visitors last week. Gene Rietmann spent a few days this week in Corvallis where he visited his brother, Larry, who is a student at Oregon State. Gene was a guest at Delta Chi fraternity house while there. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Bristow visited their son, Jerry, at E. O. C. E. in La Grande Friday and Saturday of last week. Mrs. Verner Troedson attended the Mother's Day activities at the University of Oregon last week and visited her daughter, Shirlee McGreer, who is a stu dent there. Arthur Johnson left Sunday by plane for Sweden. He plans to be oone for a year. Mrs. Dale Ray left for Lyle, Wash., this week. Her daughter in-law, Mrs. Bill Brashers of Lyle underwent surgery this week. Mr. Ray is visiting a brother Herman Ray in Eugene who is 111.
