ORDINANCE No. 31
An Ordinance entitled, "An
Ordinance declaring that certain
territory is annexed to the City of
Boardman, Oregon, upon the
condition that the majority of
the votes cast in the territory is
in favor of annexation; to provide
for a special election In the terri
tory; to provide for notice, poll
ing places and ballots and to ap
point and designate Judges and
Clerks therefor."
Whereas, a public hearing was
duly called and held before the
Common Council of the City of
Boardman at which time regis
tered voters of the said City ap
peared and were heard on the
question of annexation of cer
tain territory, and
Whereas, the majority of those
appearing at said hearing were
in favor of such annexation, and
Whereas, it is necessary, there
for, to declare such territory an
nexed to the City of Boardman
upon the condition that the ma
jority of votes cast in the terri
tory is in favor of annexation; to
provide for a special election in
, the territory to vote upon such
question; to provide for notice,
polling places and ballots ac
cording to law, and to appoint
and designate Judges and Clerks
therefor.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
BOARDMAN DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Common Coun
cil of the City of Boardman, Ore
gon does hereby declare that the
following described territory be
annexed to the City of Board
man upon the condition that the
majority of the votes cast in the
territory is in favor of such an
nexation. Said territory being
described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest
corner of the Northeast Quar
ter of the Southwest Quarter
of Section 8, T 4 N, R 25 EWM,
thence South 0 24' East 1325.11
feet to the Southwest corner of
the Northeast Quarter of the
Southwest Quarter of said Sec
tion 8, thence South 89' 53.5
East 1321.69 feet to the South
east corner of the Northeast
Quarter of the Southwest Quar.
ter of said Section 8, thence
North 0' 04' West 1323.52 feet
following the North-South cen
ter line of said Section 8, to the
center of said Section 8, thence
North 89" 49" West 1329.40 feet,
following the East-West center
line of said Section 8, this
being a portion of the South
boundary line of the City of
Boardman, to the point of be
ginning, All being in Section
8, T 4 N, R 25 EWM, Morrow
County, Oregon.
Section 2. That a special elec
tion will be held for the approval
or rejection of said proposed an.
nexation within the territory pro
posed to be annexed. Said elec
tion will be held on the 8th day
of June, 195G. The polling place
in the territory proposed to be
annexed will be open from 8:00
o'clock in the morning until 8:00
o'clock In the evening of said
day, Oregon Standard Time.
Section 3. The polling place
in the territory proposed to be
annexed shall be Ewing Barber
Shop Bldg.
Section 4. That notice of said
election shall be given by pub
lication prior to said election
once each week for four succec
sive weeks in the Heppner Ga
zette Times, a newspaper of gen
eral circulation in the City of
Boardman and the territory pro
posed to be annexed. Notice
shall also be given by posting
notices of said election in four
public places within the terri
tory proposed to be annexed for
a like period of time. The notice
shall read substantially as fol
lows: NOTICE OF ANNEXATION
Notice is hereby given that an
election will be held in the fol
lowing described territory which
is proposed to be annexed to the
City of Boardman, and said ter

The election will be held on
the 8th day of June, 1956 and
all registered voters of the terri
tory proposed to be annexed are
hereby invited to vote upon the
annexation of said territory to
the City of Boardman.
Polling places will be open
from 8:00 o'clock in the morning
until 8:00 clock in the evening
of said day, Oregon Standard
Time. The polling place for said
election shall be at Ewing Bar
ber Shop Bldg.

posed to be annexed.

Section 2. That a special elec-

lication prior to said election once
each week for four successive
weeks in the Heppner Gazette
Times, a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Board
man and the territory proposed to
be annexed. Notice shall also be
given by posting notices of
said election in four public places
with in the territory proposed to
be annexed for a like period of
time. The notice shall read sub
stantially as follows:

until 8:00 o'clock in the evening
of said day, Oregon Standard
Time. The polling place for
said election shall be at School
Gymnasium.
