What pay can I expect to get after leaving high school? How much will this increase in the years following? These are questions most frequently asked by seniors about to graduate. There is a great variation in wages paid to workers, depend ing on the location, training re quired, and the job. In a recent study of graduates, beginning weekly wages ranging from a low of $20 for men and $17 for women, to a high of $82 for men and $65.00 for women. Graduates who started work in low paying, unskilled jobs tended to receive little increases in pay, while those in skilled vocations their earnings much more. For instance, the lowest week ly wage for men in the class of 1949, five years after graduation, was $31. For women, the lowest was $22 per week. This was almost identical with their be ginning pay. However, top salaries for the same group had increased to $97 for men and $80 for women. Junior News The Junior English class have been writing original poems. Talent Show The talent show was opened up by the master of ceremonies, Bob Pryse. The theme was a night club in a large city. The inside of the club had a big sign stating "Club 700". All the talent that took part was local. The scene was opened by the dance band playing "Blue Moon" as their theme song. The pro gram consisted of: Linda Halvorsen singing "It Is No Secret" and "The Bible Tells Me So". Karen Lundell played a piano solo. "Chopin Waltz" and "Arkan sas Traveler." The bottle band that consists of Loy Keene, Bill Salter, Gary Brenner, John Howton, Wayne Ball and Mr. Stephenson played three numbers. The Girls' quartette, Jean Ann Swanson, Judy Howton, Sharon Cutsforth, and Carolyn Crabtree sang. "He". Sandra Eubanks tap danced. A pantomine by Dianne Petty john. Vocal selection by Sidney Zin ter and his ukelele. Poem by Dot Halvorsen. Instrumental "Heart and Soul" and "Rocka Beaten Boogie" by dance band, Roy Keene, Gary Brenner, Judy Howton, Wayne Ball, Ernest Drake, Berl Akers, and Mr. Stephenson. Ladies' sextette sang. "The Green Cathedral" and "April Showers". They were named "Six drips and a Drop".
