Pagt8 Heppner Gazette Times, Thursday March 15, 1956 ORDINANCE An Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance to provide for the fix lng of a time and place for a public hearing on the question of the annexation of certain con tiguous territory to the City of Boardman, and dispensing with submitting this question to the registered voters of the City of Boardman." WHEREAS, it is the determi nation and opinion of the Com mon Council of the City of Boardman that for the peace, health and public advantage of the inhabitants of the City of Boardman and of the pro posed territory to be annexed that a certain territory contigu ous to the City of Boardman be annexed to said City, and that the Common Council does elect to dispense with submitting the question of such annexation to the registered voters of the City, and WHEREAS, it is necessary therefore, that at a time and place be fixed for a public hear ing before the Common Council of the City of Boardman at which time the registered voters of the said City may appear and be heard on the question of such annexation. THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF BOARDMAN DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of Boardman, Oregon does hereby elect to dis pense with submitting to the registered voters of the City of Boardman the question of the annexation of the hereinafter de. scribed contiguous territory to the City of Boardman, Oregon. SECTION II. That a public hearing is hereby called to be held before the Common Council of the City of Boardman, Oregon on the 4th day of April, 1956 at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M., Oregon Standard Time at the Greenfield Grange Hall in said City at which time the registered voters of the City of Boardman may appear and be heard on the question of the annexation of the hereinafter described terri tory which is contiguous to the present boundary of said City. SECTION III. That notice of said hearing shall be given by publication prior to said hearing once a week for two successive weeks in the Heppner Gazette Times, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Board- man and the territory proposed to be annexed. M., Ore gon Standard Time, before the Common Council of the City of Boardman, at which time the registered voters of the City of Boardman may appear and be heard on the question of the an nexation of the following de scribed contiguous territory to the City of Boardman, Commencing at the Northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 8, T. 4 N, R. 25 EWM, thence South 0 24' East 1325.11 feet to the Southwest corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Sec tion 8, thence South 89 53.5' East 1321.69 feet t0 the South east corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quar ter of said Section 8, thence North 0' 04' West 1323.52 feet following the North-South cen ter line of said Section 8, to the center of said Section 8, thence North 89' 49' West 1329.40 feet, following the East West center line of said Sec tion 8, this being a portion of the South boundary line of the City of Boardman, to the point of beginning.
