WEATHER CONDITIONS
The Weather Modification
Company at Condon, Oregon,
holders of State License No. 14
at the request of the farmer's or
ganization, t h e Tri-County
Weather Research Association at
Condon, Oregon, will attempt to
increase the precipitation from
natural storms and to reduce the
intensity of damaging rains and
hail storms in Sections or all of
Sherman, Gilliam and Morrow
Counties of Oregon. For this effort
ground generators will be located
in Morrow county but they
should have little if any effect on
the local weather conditions.
The seeding chemicals will be
released from the ground and air
craft. The main nucleating agent
will be silver iodide crystals,
however other agents will be used
such as dry ice and various chlor
ides to further the cause of basic
research and development. The
operations will continue until
August 31, 1956. 30-31C

row County Weather Research As
sociation whose offices are lo
cated ' at Butler Creek Junction
in Morrow County. The object of
the program will be to increase
the rainfall in the areas outlined
below. The equipment to be used
will be silver iodide (Agl) coke
burning generators. The fuel
used will be coke impregnated
with silver iodide (Agl). The
boundaries for the area to be af
fected are as follows: Starting at
the east county line of Morrow
County, midway of Section 4,
Twp. 3 N, Rge. 27 E, thence west
southwest along the county road
to the southwest corner of Sec
tion 35, Twp. 3 N, Rge. 27 E.,
thence west to the county line
between Morrow and Gilliam
Counties, thence south-southeast
along State Highway 74 to the
southwest corner of Section 31,
Twp. 1 S., Rge. 26 E, thence east
to the Umatille County line,
thence north and west along the
Morrow-Umatilla County boun
dary to the point of beginning.
The operation will be from ap
proximately October 1, 1955 to
June 15, 1956. The area to be af
fected by the rain increase pro
gram will be same as the above
description.
