Loyal Parker Central Market & Grocery Groceries and Meats k wis PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, several soil conservation districts have petitioned that on week of this year be set aside as soil conservation week; and WHEREAS, the conservation and intelligent development, use and protec tion of our natural resources is of primary importance to our present (generation, and to generations yet unborn, and inasmuch as our soil, water, forest range, fish and wildlife, and mineral resources are the foundation of our economy and way of life; and WHEREAS, the State of Oregon through the Committee on Natural Resources is coordinating and carrying forward a constructive program of conservation of these resources participated in by numerous agencies, service groups, business or ganizations, and countless individuals; and WHEREAS, it is of utmost importance that we continue this work of conser vation and efficient use of these resources to the betterment of all humnkind, NOW, THEREFORE, I Paul Patterson, Governor of the State of Oregon,, in order to properly designate the importance of this work, by virtue of the oath in me vested, do hereby declare and proclaim the week of May 1 through May 7 as CONSERVATION WEEK and respectfully urge all organizations and citizens of our State to develop and participate in conservation programs during that week in order that we may place even greater emphasis on this very important work.
