home of Mrs. Earl McKinney
Wednesday April 2n with Mrs.
John Proudfoot as co-hostess. The
club voted to purchase a table
and benches for the city park.
After the meeting court whist
was played. Mrs. Robert Jepsen
received the door prize.
Bridge and pinochle were
played at the social meeting of
the Topic club Saturday April 23
at the Charles Carlson home with
Mrs. Charles O'Connor and Mrs.
Cleo Drake as co-hostesses. 'Those
winning prizes in bridge were
Mrs. Mabel Cotter, high; Mrs. A.
Shirley, low and Mrs. Mary Swan
son, Jack high. In pinochle Mrs.
Victor Rietmann, high; Mrs. Fan
nie Griffith, low and Mrs. Wil
liam Rawlins, 300 pinochle.
Mrs. Hershal Townsend enter
tained the Three Links club of
Bunchgrass Rebekah lodge at her
home Friday of last week with a
potluck dinner at noon. The club
planned a clean-up day at the
cemetery May 21 and a potluck
dinner at noon at the Rebekah
hall. This will be a community
project. They, alo, planned a
food and pie and coffee sale at
their hall May 6 from 10 a. m.
Mrs. David Baker and children
are, staying at the Henry Gorger
home in Pendleton while Mr. and
Mrs. Gorger and Mr. and Mrs.
Billy Gorger are in the. east.
Mrs. Dora Pierrot of Portland
is visiting at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Franklin Ely.

costume. At the business meet
ing it was decided to sell pie and
coffee at the tap dance recital
to be held, here May 7. Several

Mrs. Vida Heliker was recom
mended as district deputy presi
dent at the meeting of the Bunch
grass Rebekah lodge Thursday
evening. The members of
the lodge voted to give $5 to
the cancer fund. After the meet
ing refreshments were served by
Mrs. Mary Swanson, Mrs. Adon
Hamlett and Mrs. Wallace Mathews.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Cannon gave
a dinner Wednesday evening,
April 20 in honor of Mrs. Hazel

home last week from a plane
