Parker celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Sunday December 19 with a family dinner and a re ception. They were married December 21, 1904 in Lexington at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Cypert. Mrs, A. C. Mitchell, Mrs. Parker's sister was attendant at the wedding. Present at the dinner, held at the Parker home were their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nelson and their three daughters, Georgia, Wanda and Corlan of Portland; a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Onez Parker and children, David and Julie of Everett, Washington; Mrs. Parker's two sisters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Mit chell of Tacoma, Washington, Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Loney of Walla Walla and a sister Mrs. Mary Davis of Los Angales; Mr. Par ker's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Harris and son, Judge William Wells and Mrs.Wells and two children, Mrs. Schmaling, grandmother of Mrs. Wells all of Pendleton; his bro ther and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Parker of Heppner; Mrs. Emily Nelson of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. William Parker of Prescott, Wash, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parker of Walla Walla, cousins of Mr. Parker; Miss Dona Barnett and Mrs. Trina Parker of Lexington. Following the dinner the re ception was held at the Christian church where over 100 friends called between the hours of two and four thirty. The table was centered with a wedding cake in the . form of a Greek cross and topped with a bowl of white forget-me-nots. Pink and white carnations were also used on the table. Gold chry santhemums were used on the coffee table. The cake was cut by Mrs. Mary Davis, assisted by Mrs. W. W. Wells. During the first hour Mrs. A. C. Mitchell and Mrs. M. R. Loney poured assisted by Miss Dona Barnett and others during the remainder of the afternoon. Mrs. Loyal Parker had charge of the guest book and Mrs. Clive Huston and Mrs. C. N. Jones supervised the kitchen and din ing room. Assisting with the gifts were Mrs. Ben Anderson and Mrs. Jar vis Chaffee. Gronemyer Dr. Janet Kirk William Wells played several violin selections, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Nelson. Wanda and Georgia Nelson, granddaughters of the Parkers, sang two songs and another song was sung by three granddaughters, Wanda, Georgia Nelson and Julie Parker. Wanda Nelson gave a reading, "The Night Before Chrostmas". Mrs. Fred Hoskins, Jr. sang two solos "Because" and "I Love You Truly" accompanied by Mrs. Harry Nelson. Mrs. Parker wore an orchid for the occasion. Rebekahs-IOOF Hold Christmas Party After the regular meeting of Sans Souci Rebekah lodge Friday evening December 17, the Oddfel lows joined the Rebekahs in a social and Christmas party. The Oddfellows showed a Christmas film "The Guiding Light" and gifts were exchanged. Several birthdays of the last three months were honored with special birthday cakes and a penny for each birthday year was given to be donated for cheer for shut-ins. Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Parker were escorted to a table where they cut their wedding cake honoring them on their golden wedding anniversary. A gift was presented to them from the two lodges. About 60 members were pre sent and hostesses were Mrs. Ru fus Piper and Mrs. Sara Mc Namer. Hardman. Rebekahs Elect New Officers Mistletoe Rebekah lodge No. 25 of Hardman have elected their of ficers for the coming year. They are Mary Wright, noble grand; Ida Lee Chapel, vice grand; Del sie Chapel, secretary and Marie Lesley, treasurer. Mistletoe lodge meets the first and third Tuesday afternoons of each month at 2:00 p. m. A turkey dinner was served to about 100 before the meeting. Mrs. Raymond French Heads Altar Society St. Patrick's Altar Scciety met at the home of Mrs. E. E. Gonty Monday evening. Election of officers was held and the new officers are Mrs. Raymond French, president; Mrs. Jack Heqly, vice president; Mrs. Bill Gentry, treasurer; Miss Kay McLaughlin, secretary. The date for the card party was set for January 17 in the Catholic church basement. Breakfast for the Holy Name men will be served January 30 by ladies of the Altar Society. All members of Holy Name are urged to attend. Co-hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Blanche Wise and Mrs. Gertrude Applegate, o Circles of WSCS Meet At Homes Last Week The Young Women's circle of the W. S. C. S. of the Methodist church met Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Marion Hug- gett, with Miss Donna Sebum as sisting Mrs. Carl McDaniel had charge of the program. Suzanna circle met at the home of Mrs. George Reed Wednesday afternoon. Miss Opal Brfggs was program chairman, Mrs. Lester Doolittle was a guest.- Refreshments were served at the close of the evening. Alpha circle met Wednesday evening with Mrs. Walter Beckett. Mrs. Newt O'Harra reviewed the book "The Greatest Story Ever Told" by Fulton Ousler. Mrs. Walter Ruggles was program chairman. Refreshments were served to sixteen. Carol Singing s Club Program With Mrs. C. C. Carmichael at the piano, the Soroptimist club sang traditional Christmas carols at their meeting Thursday noon at O'Donnell's. Plans were completed for the Christmas party which will be held Monday evening at the E. E. Gonty home. Mrs. John Pfeiffer was a guest of the club. M. at a public installation held jointly with the Eastern Star and Roval Arch Masons on the evening of December 11, follow ing the annual turkey dinner. In stalling officer Frank S. Parker, with the assistance of Paul Jones, installing marshall, and Rev. Lester Boulden, honorary install ing chaplain, installed the fol lowing officers: Claude Graham, W. M.; Oliver Creswick, S. W.; Marion Hayden, J. W.j R. B. Rice, treasurer; Harold Becket, secre tary; Marcel Jones, S. D.; Roy Quackenbush, J. D.; R. C. Wight man, Chaplain; Eugene Hall, S. S.; Howard Keithley, J. E. Gonty Monday evening. The members took home-made candy and cookies and packed boxes to be sent to the Veterans hospital at Walla Walla and to Boys Town on the Columbia. They also packed ten boxes, each con taining everything needed for a dinner, to be given to elderly men who have no families. Refreshments were served to thirteen members at the close of the evening. Carnation Club Has Christmas Party The Carnation club of the De gree of Honor met at the home of Mrs. Theta Stratton Thursday, Dec. 9. It was the Christmas party and revealing of secret pals. New officers for the coming year were nominated. The birth day apron was opened and Ruth Bergstrom won the apron as she was the one guessing the near est to the amount of money sewed in it. This money is to be used to buy presents for the county pa tients at the hospital. Miss Etta Shepherd entertained with dance numbers and acro batics. The" remainder of the evening wfft spent in singing carols and other songs appropri ate to the Christmas season. What's Trump Club Holds Christmas Party Mrs. Emile Groshens and Mrs. W. O. George were hostesses for the Christmas party of the What's Trumps bridge club, at the George home Wednesday afternoon. ( The rooms were beautifully decorated with Christmas greens and red and green color scheme was used throughout. Those present were Mesdames L. D. Tibbies, Tom Wilson, P. W. Mahoney, Raymond Ferguson, Leonard Schwarz, James Thom son, Robert Penland, E. K Schaf fitz, Earle Blake, Harold Cohn, Gene Ferguson, Orville Smith, and the' hostesses. Mrs. Tibbies held high score, Mrs. Cohn second, Mrs. Penland third and Mrs. Smith low. An exchange of gifts was held at the close of the afternoon. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Roy Orwick are announcing the engagement of their daughter Kathleen Ann to Warren Disque of Condon. Three Honored With Party At Hardman - On the afternoon of Tuesday December 14, Mrs. Victor Lovgren, Mrs. Harold Wright, Miss Ida Lee Chapel and Mrs. Blaine Chapel were hostesses for a birthday party at Hardman I. O. O. F. hall honoring Mrs. Kinnard McDaniel, Mrs. Kenneth Batty and Mrs. Claude white. The hall was decorated with a Christas tree and holly. The afternoon was spent playing games.
