Since we couldn't go camping, the club members decided to buy floodlights for the style revue at the county fair with our money that we have earned. Mrs. Casswell, home demon stration agent, gave the members suggestions for demonstrations. Also, our leader, Mrs. Walter Wright, discussed some points to consider in judging garments. She suggested between now and fair time, that the girls watch for these points on clothing. Mrs. Harold Peck and Mrs. Hershal Townsend visited the Charmingly Yours group. They are working on their dirndle skirts. The clothing IV and V girls are planning to have gar ments completed and all mem bers are to have record books up to date by August 18. Oua next meeting will be held at the Rhea Creek grange, hall then. ine members present were Lynda Borman, Helen Graham, Diane Grant, Judy Thompson, Sally Palmer, Shirley Peck, Mar gie Peck, Brenda Townsend, Mere dith Thomson, Patsy Wright and Janet Wright. Jean Graham, a 4-H member from another club and Mrs. Casswell were guests. Refreshments were served. Janet Wright, reporter. GOOD LITTLE WORKERS June 23, 1954 perfect attendance was recorded in the lone Com munity church basement at the ninth meeting of the Good Little Workers sewing club. Leann Padberg, Karen Lundell and Linda Heimbigner worked on their record books and Ann Baker and Judy Morgan sewed the pockets on their aprons. Refreshments of cookies and orange ade were served by all. We are to think of ideas for a booth at the fair and decide whether or not we want to give a demonstration. OREGON Pfc. Leslie Conboy, who is sta tioned at Camp Crowder, Missouri is on furlough for thirty days, and is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orie Conboy at Boardman. He will spend some of his time here, with his brother, Bill Con boy and family, and his sister, Mrs. Earl Talbert and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Huddleston of Hermiston, are spending a few weeks at their mountain home, here. Their son Tom and family, came with them to visit over the weekend. Mr. Homer Hayes of Portland visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hayes, and with his son Kill, over the holidays. He returned to Portland Tuesday, accompanied my Ed McNutt who will visit his brother Bill, at Cloverdale and other relatives In the valley. Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Perry had as their visitors during the last week, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bennett of Centralia; Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Bennett and Mr. and Mrs. K. D Fox of Seattle, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Harris were pleasantly surprised when her son, Leo Spitzer and family ar rived from Boise, Idaho, to visit them over the weekend. Other visitors are Mrs. Francis Davis and children of Portland, Mrs, Anna Bott and sons of Condon and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Harris and daughter of Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Homer Davis, Carolyn and Evan were Kinzua visitors Thurs day. They spent the day with Homer Davis, who is general manager. Mr. Delbert Edwards and daughter, Claudette, were out to their ranch Saturday. Miss Ed wards was over-joyed when she found her saddle horse, which had been missing for some time, waiting at the gate when they arrived. Glenn Hayes has been busy the last week working on the telephone line which will become dial system this fall. Bill Conboy and John Madden are also busy doing the same kind of work. Mr. and Mrs Harry Dinges of Heppner were business visitors in Lonerock Saturday. Mr. Clarno McLaughlin of Port alnd visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George McLaughlin, Satur day and Sunday. Mr. Harold Cox who underwent surgery at a hospital in Excelsor Springs, Missouri, returned home Friday. He says he is very glad to get home, as the hot weather there, made it very uncomfor table, while being hospitalized. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wick, Jerry Boardman News ! Mr. and Mrs. Willis Pioratt and Sons left for their home in Lonr Beach, Calif., after two weeks here at the home of Mrs. Pieratt's parents, Mr. 'and Mrs. I. T. Pear son. Returning to Laiuornia with the Preratts was Mrs. Marian Hedgers and two children who will stay for a time with her sister. Mr. and Mrs. Z. J. Gillespie, Mrs. Leo Root and Mrs. Claud Coats motored to Pendleton Monday. Mr. Clifford Thorpe, Lakeport, Calif., arrived Friday at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Thorpe, coming to get Lawrence Potter to make his home with the Thorpes in Lakeport. Lawrence has been at the Nathan Thorpes the past two years. Guests two days this week at the Glen Carpenter home, were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Grant and two sons, Lomond, Alberta Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Forthman motored to Waitsburg, Wash., and were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hinchliff. Mrs. Forth- Have you picked out your ex hibit of wheat yet?
