Married at Boardman
BOARDMAN The wedding of
Miss Bernadine Kress, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kress, be
came the bride of FrankHn Ball,
youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Ball Sr., in a single ring ceremony
Saturday evening at 6 p. m., May
29 at the Boardman Community
church with the Rev. Wilson,
Minister of the Nazarene church,
Hermiston reading the marriage
rites.
The bride, beautiful in a gray
suit, with a corsage of red roses,
and white hat was given in mar
riage by her father, Harold Kress.

brother of the bride, Ivan Kress
and Arthur Sanders, Hermiston.
Mr. Ray Steinhouse, Hermiston

brides march. In charge of the
gift table were Miss Pat Kress
and Miss Betty Olmstead; Miss
Rena Anderson was in charge of
the guest book. After the bride
and groom cut the first piece of
the three-tiered wedding cake,
and the bride feeding the groom,
the cake was served by Mrs.
Lewis Ralston, aunt of the bride
and Mrs. Ray Steinhouse, others
serving and pouring were Mrs. I.
T. Pearson, Miss Jean Scott and
Miss Zelma Cowan.
Out of town relatives attend
ing was the bride's grandmother,
Mrs. Emma Kress, an uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rals
ton and baby, Lewiston, Idaho.

sa, VVestfir, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Ball and son Larry, lone,
both men, brothers of the groom;
Mrs. Grace Bates, aunt of the
groom; Mr. and Mrs. John Rue
ker and daughter, Riddle, Oregon.
The bride was a graduate of
the class of 54, Boardman high
school receiving her diploma on
Monday evening May 24th. After
a few days the young couple will
be in Nevada, where Mr. Ball is
employed with a contractor.
County Delegates to
Attend State Home
Economics Conference
Morrow county delegates will
attend the annual state home eco
nomise extension conference at
Corvallis, June 2nd and 3rd, ac
cording to Maud C. Casswell,
county agent, home economic.
Mrs. Markham Baker and Mrs.
Norman Nelson, delegates to the
triennial conference at Toronto,
Canada, last August, will give a
report at the state council lunch
eon on June 3.
Morrow county committee
members will serve on the follow
ing committees: the Azalea House
committee, world citizenship, re
search, legislative, health and
safety, public relations, 4-H club
and the triennial conference.
County committee members at
tending the conference are: Mrs.
Earl Blake, Lena; Mrs. Omar Reit
mann, lone; Mrs. William Garner,
Boardman; Mrs. Markham Baker,
lone, delegate from Farm Bureau
and former county committee
member, and Mrs. Norman Nel
son, Lexington, state home eco
nomics council, will tour with
Morrow county delegates and
Mrs. Maud Casswell to the conference.

The Beta Omega Chapter of the

ming pool at the lone school. The
chapter held their meeting at the
wine of Mrs. Walter Jacobs.

party for members of the family.

gress and recent hostesses have

night.

At Friday Ceremony
At an afternoon ceremony at
the Methodist church Friday, Miss
Irene Zinter became the bride of
Alfred Huitt.
The bride, daughter of R. H.
Zinter of Spokane was given in
marriage by her brother Sidney
Zinter. She wore a sheer pink
ballarina length gown and car
ried pink rosebuds and stephano
tis. Mrs. Clarence Johnson, matron
of honor, wore a pink lavendar
afternoon dress and carried a
nosegay of gold carnations.
James Driscoll served as best
man for the groom and ushers
were James Wilson and George
Warner.
Reverend L. D. Boulden offici
ated during the ceremony and
Miss Donna Hudson sang "Be
cause", accompanied by Mrs.
Boulden.
Following the ceremony a re
ception was held at the Zinter
home on Gale street.
Mrs. James Wilson was in
charge of cutting the cake and
Mrs. Magne Storro and Mrs.
George Warner presided at the
punch bowl.
Mrs. Lucy Peterson took charge
of gifts and Miss Frances Duran
was responsible for the guest
book.
Out of town guests were Mrs.
Nelda Storro of Priest River, Ida
ho and Miss Evelyn Cowan of
Spokane.
After a short wedding trip to
Washington the couple is now at
home in Heppner.

Irrigon Friday
The Morrow County Extension
committee met at the home of
Mrs. Lloyd Berger in Irrigon on
Friday afternoon May 28.

JOLLY CHEFS
The Jolly Chefs cooking III club
met at Howton's May 22 and had
their mothers for dinner. The
dinner was prepared by the
members and served to Mrs. E. M.
Baker and Mrs. Lloyd Howton, the
only guests present.
HAPPY BAKERS
The Happy Bakers cooking III
met May 24 at the home of Dora
Sue Davidson. After a success
ful business meeting the mem
bers prepared the following menu
carrot sticks, hamburgers, cucum
ber salad, hot biscuits and cool
ado which was en joyed by all.
We discussed filling in our re
cord books and preparation of
dinners. At our next meeting
we are going to prepare and bake

Conference Reports
Told to Soroptimists ,
Mrs. Jos. Hughes and Mrs. W.
O. George gave their reports of
the Conference held at Olympia,
Wash., last month, to the Soropti
mist club at their luncheon meet
ing at O'Donnell's on Thursday.
It was announced at this meet
ing that Virginia Gouty had been
chosen to receive the club's 411
scholarship for this year.
Mrs. Earl Blake was a guest of
the club.
The next meeting is to be the
regular monthly business meet
ing. o
