More than one half of the members of the present House have been nominated to succeed themselves. The 31 have a combined legislative service of 20S years. Among them is Dean of the House, the venerable Rep. Harvey Wells of Multnomah who has served in the House 2S years. Another group of eight, mem bers of sessions previous to 1953 were nominated. Their combined . ervice totals 42 years. If the voters reckon that only experience counts they could have a legislature with a com bined legislative adventures to taling nearly a half century. NON-FARM JOBS INCREASE There was an average of 1 16,500 persons working on non-farm jobs during the past month, which is almost one thousand more than the previous 30 day period and only three per cent below the same time last year. The all lime high mark last year was 195.300. The decline in employment compared with a year ago is caused by fewer jobs in the lum ber and construction industries, the unemployment compensation I commission said Monday.
