PLANS FOR STATE FAIR

Commerce and the Salem Plan
ning Commission, developed pre

Roseburg, chairman, and Henry
Aherns, Turner, secretary.
The 1954 eight -day fair will
open Sept. 4. The signal pro
gram change will lie nationally
known circus to suplant a rodeo.
Besides decorating streets the
Salem C of C will operate tourist
booths for fair visitors with a
i general information service and
book lodgings with local motels
and apartment houses.

Taxes collected from employ

Oregon teenagers had 17,063
work permits issued for their
employment during 1953. Ninety
per cent of the permits were for
part - time work.
