Smith The Women's Auxiliary of the Episcopal church hold their mis sionary meeting Monday evening at the parish house. Mrs. Stephen Thompson was in charge of the program and in troduced Mrs. Orville Smith who showed moving pictures of the Smiths trip to Guatemala and Acapulco, Mexico. , Members present were Mr. and Mrs. John Reeves, Mesdamcs Ro bert Crabill, Mary Van Stevens. Claude Graham, P. W. Mahoney, L a Verne Van Marter, Stephen Thompson, Frank Baker. Sally Marlatt, A. D. McMurdo, Grace Nickerson, Robert Gammell, Lucy Peterson and Miss Donna Neal. Guesls were Mrs. Raymond Fer guson, Mrs Cyrene Barratt of Cor vallis, and Mrs. J. O. Turner. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Crabill. Legion Anniversary To Be Celebrated Final plans were made at the i American Legion Auxiliary meet J ins Tuesday niuht March 16 for i t he ,Tth anniversary of the Ame rican Legion celebration to be I held Saturday, March 27. It was decided to have a banquet to be followed by a dance for Legion land Auxiliary members and their in ited guests. Rebekahs Initiate Four Friday Night Four new members were initi ated into the Sans Souci Robe kali lodge at a regular business mooting Friday night at the I. O. O. F. hall. Mrs. Sara McNamer, Noble Grand was presiding offi cer and the new candidates were Miss Lota Humphreys. Mrs. Mary Van Stevens. Mrs. Joan Miller and Mrs. Trudie Casebeor. During the business meeting the lodge elected Mrs. Merle Kirk for the degree of Chivalry which is a very high honor in the lodge work. Thirty year pins were present ed by Mrs. Lucy Rodgers, past Noble Grand, to Mrs. Hilma An derson and Mrs. Kirk. Refreshments were served to approximately sixty-five mem bers by John Wightman, Clarence Bauman, Tom Wells, Durward Tash and Sie Walker. Blakes Entertain With Sunday Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Blake entertained at their home Sunday afternoon with a dinner party. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Emery ('oxen of Portland, Mrs. D. A. Wilson, and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Blake, Beverly, Barbara, Jennifer, Karen and Kathy. Miss Dorothy French June Wedding Set By Dorothy French Mrs. Rose Francis announces tho engagement of her daughter Dorothy French to Larry Harnes, son of Leonard Harnes of Ad vance, Missouri. Miss French is a student at Stephens College, Col umbia, Mo. Mr. Harnes is a senior in chemical engineering at the Uni versify of Missouri and is a mem her of Phi Kappa fraternity. A June wedding is planned. Shower Held in lone For Colleen Connor Mrs. Tom Bristovv, Mrs. Louis Carlson and Mrs. James Sumner were co-hostesses at a miscel laneous bridal shower for Miss Colleen Connor at the Bristow residence in lone Tuesday night The gifts brought by the guests were cleverly arranged by the hostesses in a new clothes basket around which were hanging vari ous kinds of small kitchen uten sils. German newspaper man, spoke to the Soroptimist club and their guests at their noon luncheon Thursday at O'Donnell's. He told of the conditions exist ing today in Berlin and Germany.
