Mr. and Mrs. Donald Heliker spent a few days in Walla Walla the first of the week. C, David Baker went to Portland in his plane Saturday Jan. 31 and attended the auto show, he was accompanied by Roy and Arthur Llndstrom, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Lindstrom. On return ing home the next day he ran into fog on the John Day, and on reaching Condon he found it clear there so landed his plane and spent the night there. Mr. Lindstrom came after them Hie next day as the fog has closed in at Condon. He left the plane in Condon until the weather clears up. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Wade and family of Walla Walla spent the weekend with his sister, Mrs. Etta Rristow and other relatives, Mrs. Bristow's other brother Tom Wade of Walla Walla was also a visitor here one day last week. Surviving are her widower, II. R. Kaiser of Maupin; a son, H. R. Kaiser, Jr. of Corval lis; a daughter, Winifred of Cor dova, Alaska; Three brothers, Francis Griffin of The Dalles, and Phil Griffin of lone; two sisters, Mrs. Verda Ritchie of Portland, and Mrs. Lydia Ball of Yakima and three grand children. Mrs. Winnie Ziriter and son, William, attended the funeral! services of her sister Mrs. Lela Johnson of Santa Rosa, Calif., Jan, 30. The services were held in the Christian church there. with Rev. Howard Stansberry of jficiating. The ladies of the! I Moose lodge had charge of part of the services. The American j Legion auxiliary and the V. F. W. ! auxiliary attended in a body. Mrs. Johnson was known here as she spent three summers at the j Zinter ranch. She died Jan. 27 land is survived by a son Allen I Johnson at Santa Rosa and a I daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Elliott of Willits, Calif.; three sisters and two brothers and 9 grandchildren. On their way home the Zinters stopped at Bay City and visited the H. N. Wad'dells. Mr. Waddell conducts Bible school at Wi ne ma and also is working in the plywood plant. Mrs. Waddell is cooking in the grade school at Cloverdale. Mr. and Mrs. Garland Swanson attended the funeral services of her brother-in-law, W. S. Brown, in Salem Tuesday. He is sur vived by his widow, Katy, and two sons and two daughters. Mrs. Swanson and sister Miss Lena Miller went to Salem the first of last week and Mr. Swanson and Jimmy left Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Truman Messen ger and daughters left for their home in Hermiston Monday after staying at the Zinter ranch. Council Meets At the meeting of the city coun cil Tuesday evening, Robert Mil ler of the Miller truck line was present, to talk over with the council, the problems of parking I the commercial trucks on the ' streets.
