There were 20 members present and an interesting report on cold frames was given by Mrs. Nellie Johnson. The house plant show was jud ged by Mrs. Mervin Leonard and Mrs. Anne Smouse. Committees were appointed for the year to take charge of the altar. Members present were dames , Blanche Brown, Wright, Tare Peterson, Mes Mary James Farley, Bert Kane, Ambrose Cha pin, Clarence Uosewall, LaVerne Van Marter, and Alex Thompson. OES Social Club Has Card Party Saturday An Eastern Star social night was held Saturday night for members and their husbands at 1he Masonic hall. Bridge and pinochle were played and prizes were received by Paul Jones in bridge and Wal ter Becket bad high score in pin ochle. The door prize was re ceiver! by Walter Kuggles. Refreshments were served to the group by hostesses Mrs. Har old Becket, Mrs. Paul Jones. Mrs. John Lane and Mrs. C. C. Car michael. CHURCHES IONE COMMUNITY CHURCH Rev, A. Carlow Missionary to Japan To Speak Here Sunday Margaret E. Carlow, missionary to Japan, will be guest speaker at a special missionary service of the Assembly of God church Sun day evening, February 14, 7:45, according to the pastor, Rev. Wil lis W. Geyer. Miss Carlow will appear in Japanese costume as she tells of her activities in that land. She will also display some souvenirs. She recently returned from a four year term in Japan where she learned the language and helped organize three Sunday Schools which are now operating with a combined attendance of over 500. Rhea Creek Grange will meet this Friday night with Mr. Edger Collison, manager of Columbia Basin Electric Co-op as the guest speaker of the evening. There will be a pot luck supper at 6:30 and everyone is urged to atteid. The grange wishes to thank those who attended the Polio Benefit dance held here the 6th for making it such a success. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wright motored to Portland on Sunday. 4-H Club News SAND HOLLOW-BUTTER CREEK LIVESTOCK CLUB The meeting was held at the Bernard Doherty home February 7. It was called to order by the president. The minutes of the last meeting were read and ap prosod. We discussed our pro jects. Billy Monagle, Tommy and Jimmy Martin are new members. All three are taking sheep. Jimmy Martin is an associate member. A film was shown by Nels An derson on "Hog Sense". There were 17 visitors and 12 lege of Idaho, Unive sity of Ida ho, University of California and Central Bible Institute in Spring field, Missouri. Rev. Geyer states that Febru ary was chosen by Assembly of God Churches as Womens Mis sionary Council day, in which special emphasis is given to world missions. He extends an in vitation to the public to hear Miss Carlow, and also to attend the preceding Young Peoples pro gram at 6:45.
