Talk on Homemaking
Mrs. Katherine Ilager spoke to
the Soroptimist club- at their
Thursday luncheon meeting at
O'Donnell's, on her classification,
which is education and home-
making.
She said the teaching of home
making today includes much be
sides cooking and sewing. It
takes in many things such as
grooming, menu making, interior
decorating, health habits and
adjusting to society.
She also is supervisor of the
cafeteria. She told of planning
and preparing meals for such a
large .number and how hard it is
to work under such crowded con
ditions as now exist. In Novem
ber of 1953 there were 760 more
meals served than in November
of 1949 in the same amount of
space and with the same facili
ties. She also said that many
schools are starting homemak
ing classes for boys.
