LINDSTROM Executor TURNER and ANDERSON Attorneys for Executor 35-39c Carryover of Dairy Products Weakens '54 Market Outlook Oreeon milk checks will pro bably be a little emalle in 1954, agricultural economists at Ore gon State college report in the lates Agricultural Situation Out look circular. Much depends on the level at which dairy product support prices are fixed for the marketing year beginning April 1. I The economists expect little in I crease in milk production in pither Oregon or the nation in the year ahead, but supplies nation ally will be increasea by a large carry-over of manufactured dairy nroducts. Without supports. these large supplies would force prices lower even though spena able income and consumer de mand for milk products in this country are as strong in ias4 as in 1953. Poor nasture conditions in the eastern half of the counry are against heavy milk flow this fall and winter, the economists ex plain. They go on to say, that although large amounts or con centrates and hay are being fed, it is not likely milk production will reach the record levels of last fall and winter when sur pluses were accumulated at a rapid rate. In Oregon, mi k production ana he making of cheese and butter as well as the sales of fluid milk. are all running well above a year The economists give tne iouow incr advice in the circular: Farmers doing a good job should find it good business to stay with the dairying. The need fnr prrirlpnev is still great, but the worst of the price-cosi squeeze is probably past for a while. Those consiaering enisl ing the dairy business snouia give the idea careful thought. Pnmnptltion is keen.
