Tile flooring will be put down in the council room and Venetian blinds have been pur chased for the windows. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Martin and family of Ilermiston spent Sunday at the Henry Clark home. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Buschke of Morgan and Mrs. Mabel Cotter were Pendleton visitors Tuesday of last week. At a meeting of the teachers and officers of the Community Sunday School it was planned to have a program Easter Sunday. Several friends called on Mr. and Mrs. Ted Palmateer Saturday evening to help them celebrate their 4th wedding anniversary. The citizens of the town and community practiced using the hose on the fire truck Sunday. From where I sit ..Jy Joe Marsh Just a Little "Outdated" Back in December we sent out our yearly calendar. It listed the last date for renewing drivers' licenses, and things like the dates for registering to vote, when the hunting and fishing seasons open even suggested you note down the wife's birthday, too. I figured dates like these were important to keep in mind and this was a good way to do it. Un fortunately, it now turns out I never really paid close attention to my own calendar! Not 'til today that is so here I am not able to drive the car this weekend until I get my driver's license renewed on Monday! From where I sit, I guess good advice, like charity, should begin at home. I'm always advising all of you to worry less about your neighbors (what they do, or say, and whether or not they should, enjoy a temperate glass of beer) and pay more attention to whether you yourself are doing the right thing. Bobby Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs Robert De Spain had the cast re moved from his body Tuesday of last week. He underwent skin grafting on his little finger by having his finger sewed to the skin on his stomach. The stitch es were taken out of his finger Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Crawford and daughters and Mrs. Franklin Ely were visitors in The Dalles Saturday. Word was received that Clif ford Aldrich of the U. S. Army will soon leave for over seas. A large crowd attended the party in the community hall at Morgan Saturday evening. It was sponsored by the Odd Fellows. The evening was spent in danc ing and playing cards. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Baker, Mr, son from the Willamette Valley spent the weekend with his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Tunis. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cole of Moro spent the weekend with their son and family Mr. and Mrs. Earl McKinney. He was a delegate of the International Farm Youth Exchange and spent a year in Palestine, and is also a graduate of Washington State college. Ronald Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Baker was elected as president of the Phi Eta Sigma at Washington State college and also president of the Pilgrim Fellow ship, a young people's college group of the Congregationa cnurcn mere. Mr. and Mrs. Miles Gilman and son of Monument were visitors at the Harold Sherer home last week. Pvt. James Stith of Fort Lewis, Wash., spent the weekend visit ing the Rietmann families and the E. W. Bristows. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. (Anna Rietmann) Joe Stith of Meridian, Idaho.
