Barlow was celebrated January 1, with a dinner at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Cecil Lutkins at Gooseberry. Those present for the dinner were their children Mr. and Mrs, R. D. Alstott, Sr. and family, Alvin Barlow, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lutkins all of lone; Mrs. Albert Shunk, Sr., Heppner; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barlow of Martinez. Cali fornia; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bar low of Pasco, Washington; Joe Barlow of lone a brother to Mr. Barlow and Mrs. Slaftcr of Powell, Wyoming, mother of Mrs. Everett Barlow. Those coming for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Huston, who presented them with a cake; Mrs. Robert Dobbs, Mrs. William Rawlings, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Britt and daughter of Spray, Mrs. Britt is a grandmother of the Bar lows. o Farewell Party Given Miss Marie Soward The Christian Women's Fellow ship of the Christian church en tertained Sunday evening at a farewell party complinemting Miss Marie Soward who is leaving Thursday for San Pedro, Calif., where she has accepted a position Miss Soward will be youth direc tor of the First Christian Church in San Pedro. HEPPNER New Officers Elected By Rainbow Girls The newly elected officers of Ruth Assembly No. 50, Order of Rainbow for girls are Nancy Eber hardt, Worthy advisor; Jeanne Marie Graham, Worthy associate advisor; JoAnne Keithley, Char ity; Mary Ruth Green, Hope; Peggy Wlghtman, Faith; Virginia Andreson, Treasurer; Dianne Grant, Recorder. The Rainbow meetings are held in the Masonic temple on the first an third Mondays in each month at 7:30 o'clock. Appointive officers will be an nounced later. o Boardman Club Gives Christmas Party Monday evening December 22, the Boardman Garden Club met at the home of Mrs. Nate Macom ber for the "Prayer for Peace" Christmas party. The program consisted of the "Prayer for Peace" by Mrs, I. T, Pearson; scripture, Mrs. Ralph Earwood and Mrs. Ed Kunze, and response, Mrs. Leo Root, and the singing of Christ mas carols by the group. Each club member bringing a white apron and hankie to be sent to the State hospital In Pendleton.
