MeNamer was host ess for the Bookworms Club at its meeting last week at the Parrish home on Jones street. Mrs. Fred Parrish reviewed the book, 'Hearth In the Snow," a story of Alaska. Mrs. Edna Turner, a guest of the club, showed colored slides of her Alaskan trip last summer. RUGGLES Phone 723 Box 611 Heppner, Oregon Soroptimists Have Program on Youth Youth was the theme of the program for the Soroptimist luncheon, Thursday at O'Don nell's. Mrs. E. E. Gonty had charge of the program. She spoke briefly on the club's youth projects and then introduced Laural Kay Allstott, president of the eighth grade and Janice Beamer, president of the seventh grade. Both girls spoke about the hayride sponsored by the Soroptimists every hallowe'en. Maud Casswell told of the 411 achievement dinner and praised the leaders. . The club's regional project for two years will be to help send a teacher to India to teach the il literate.
