Mr. and Mrs. Claule Riley and sons are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Matson at Ta coma and will also visit his par ents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Riley at Elkt'on. Mrs. Stewart of Silverton was a recent visitor at the home of her Aanohtor Mrs. Charles Carlson. Mrs. Hazel Beers left Thursday of last week for her home in tagie Creek after visiting her sister, Mrs. FVhn Palmateer. The sealing of Second and the patching on Main street was completed last week by Leslie Harris, paving contractor from Pendleton. Air observation will start here soon with a 12-hour watch. The nlare will be at the city hall. Volunteers are being asked to hnln in these operations. At the city council meeting on Tuesday evening of last week a talk was given by Mr. Merriman of Pendleton on a sewage system. The city park committee of The Garden Club met with the coun cil and it was decided to make some improvements on the park soon, Mr. and Mrs. Garland Swanson ;ind familv went to Portland last wiek where Iheir children Denny and Jean Ann, took the plane to Los Angeles where they will visit their uncle. Phillip Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lundell of Oakland. Calif., will visit his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Algott Lun dell this week.
