and were guests of Mrs. Thorpes

Mrs. Arken. Meeting the Thorps
there were Mrs. Thorpe's parents
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith. Larry
Thorpe returned home with his
grandparents for an Indefinite
stay.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Allen
and Mrs. Arthur Allen returned
home Sunday from Los Angeles,
California where they were called
by the death of Mrs. Allen's mo
ther Mrs. Roy Rordell who was
killed in an auto wreck June 12th
near Ely, Nev. The Aliens left
by way of Ely. Mr. Rordell re
turned home with Mrs. Allen for
an indefinite stay.

o'clock P. M., Standard Oregon Time, on the 15th day of July, 1952,
and immediately thereafter will be publicly opened by the District
School Board of School District No. 25, Morrow County, Oregon, for
the purchase, at not less than par and accrued interest, the foliow
ing described negotiable general-obligation coupon bonds of said
school district. In the principal amount of $78,000.00 dated Septem
ber 1, 1952, in denominations of $1,000.00 each, and maturing serially
in numerical order as follows:

The bonds will bear interest payable semiannually at such rate

The bonds will be sold to the highest bidder, but the district
school board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Unless
all bids are rejected, the bonds will be awarded to the bidder com
plying with the terms of the notice of sale, and submitting the bid
which provides the lowest cost to the school district.
Each bid must be unconditional, must be accompanied by a
certified check or cashier's check in favor of the district, of or upon
a bank doing business in the state of Oregon, in the sum of $1,560.00,
and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the under
signed and marked on the outside "Proposal for Bonds". No inter
est will be allowed on the deposit with the bid, but the check of the
successful bidder will be retained as part payment of the bonds or
to secure the school district against any loss resulting from failure
of the bidder 1o comply with the terms of his bid.
Each bidder shall include in his bid a statement of the total
cost to the district, if his bid be accepted.
The successful bidder will be furnished with the written opinion
of Messrs. Winfree, McCullock, Schuler and Sayre of Portland, Ore
gon, to the effect that the bonds constitute the valid and legally
binding obligation of the said school district.
The bom's will he delivered complete, without undue delay, at
the office of the county treasurer of Morrow County.
