FANCHER, Attorney for Petitioner. 37-41c Boardman Ladies Aid Hold Bazaar By Flossie Coats Boardman The Boardman Ladies Aid annual Christmas bazaar was held Saturday even ing at the Greenfield Grange hall, and was a huge success. There was over one hundred fed at the dinner. Special booths of sewing, country store, parcel post, candy and popcorn all were well patron ized, making a good profit. The evening closed with a short pro gram under the direction of Mrs. Leo Root. Garden club met at the home of Mrs. Nate Macomber Monday afternoon. President, Mrs. Earl Briggs called the, meeting to gether and roll ca.i was answered by each member naming one thing wanted for Christmas. The Club voted to donate to both the Community Christmas treats and the Community Chest drive. Mrs. Arnold Hoffman and Mrs. Walter Wyss were appointed to serve on the Red Feather drive, which is soon to get started. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peterson and two children of Wasta, S. D. are house guests at the home of Mrs Peterson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Harwood. Mrs. Fred Lucas, North Bend, Wash., is visiting at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fortner. Mrs. Lucas will also visit relatives and friends in Heppner. Mrs. Kate Grendling left for her home in Benton City, Wash Monday after a few days with her niece Mrs. Fred Smith. Mrs, Grendling just returned from a three months stay in the East. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allen left Friday for Baker where they at' tended a State Bee convention Mrs. Allen remained Sunday and Monday at North Powder with Mr. and Mrs. N. Hunt.. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Smith and daughter Jerry, Mrs. Nate Thorpe and children spent Saturday in Pendleton. Allen Ely and Teddy Zivney were able to return to their home Monday of last week from the St. Anthonys hospital, Pendleton. Both boys were injured in an auto accident November 7. Mr. and -Mrs. R. Bishop spent the weekend in Dayton, Wash., where they attended a family re union. The Hugh Brown home was a scene of a happy place this week end. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Leighton, Alexandria, Minn., who had been house guests for a week, also their daughter, Mrs. Helen Davis and her son and daughter, Spokane, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Titon of Portland, who were at their summer home here. Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Titon are brother and sister. Fred Knight, who. is with the Army Air Corps and stationed in Newfoundland writes his mother Mrs. Esther Knight he is doing fine, but did not enjoy the Thanksgiving feed of roast tur key, due to the hard work of pre paring the fowls the day before, he did not enjoy the meal. Mrs. Frank Marlow and son Harold motored to Pendleton on Tuesday. The' Boardman Community church will have, the Christmas program Friday evening Decem ber twenty-first. Gillespie home. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Root enter tained Mr .and Mrs. Albert Ma comber and sons Dale and Lee of Arlington. Corp. Dale Macomber was home for the holidays from his camp near Sacramento, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Edward McClellen and two children were up from Portland for the holidays with McClellen's parents Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kunze. While here young Gary McClellen went jack rabbit hunting with two dogs and was lost for several hours. Many of the neighbors joined in the hunt. He was found by Cpl. Dale Ma comber and Lee Macomber near the No. 4 spillway. The Macom ber boys not knowing the lad, brought him to town.where Mrs, Ed Skoubo picked him up and took , him to his grandparents home. The Kunzes and McClel- lens were very thankful for the assistance in locating the boy. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Brown motored to Spokane, Wash., for Thanksgiving dinner at a friends Mrs. Helen Davies. Also there were Mrs Davies parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Leighton from Alex andrea, Minn., and friends of the Browns. The Leightons returned home Friday with the Browns and will be here for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marlow and sons Harold and Darrell were dinner guests at the Mrs. Mar low's uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Zerba, Walla Walla. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tannehill and son Keith spent the day in LaGrande at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tannehill. Mrs. Tan. nehill going ahead on Tuesday to her sons. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Black motored to Wallowa for the holi days with Mrs. Black's brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Oveson. Mrs. Zoe Billings and daughter Brenda motored to Monument, Ore., Wednesday and remained until Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McDan'.els. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harwood returned Sunday evening after the holiday in Tacoma and Seat tie with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Califf arrived from Baker Wednesday where Califf has been employed by the State Highway. Califf has en.' listed in the U. S.
