Smead. Born in Sedalia, Mo., she came west as a child with her parents and resided for some years at Til lamook before moving to Athena and Heppner. Her husband was the sheriff of Canyon County, Idaho, and later chief of police of Caldwell." Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Harold Engle, Caldwell, and Mrs. Lloyd Selby, Ashland, and a son, Philip R. Boyd, with the U. S. army in Austria; a sister, Mrs. Lena M.
