Elise Bauernfeind New Head Of Heppner Rainbow At the traditional impressive services used by the Rainbow For Girls, officers of the Heppner chapter were installed Monday evening, September 17 at the Masonic hall. Elise Bauernfeind was installed as Worthy Advisor, Other officers who took the ob ligation of officers were: Mar lene Porterfield, Worthy associ ate advisor; Mary Ann Jensen, Charity; Nancy Ferguson, Hope; Delores Keithley, Faith; Mary Ruth Green, Chaplain; Rieta Graves, Drill Leader; Clarice Hastings, Love; Jean Marie Gra ham, Religion; Peggy Wightman, Nature; Lynda Borman, Fidelity; Jo Ann Keithley, Patriotism; Geraldine Carter, Confidential Observer; Diane Van Horn, Out er Observer; Eleanor Rice, Musician. The installing officers were Lorenp Griffith, Installing Off icers; Nancy Eberhardt, install ing Marshall; Frances Mitchell, installing Chaplain; Eleanor Rice, installing Musician. A planter was presented to Elise by Sharon Becket, as a gift from the assembly. After the installation a short ( business meeting was held. Plans were made for the special meet ing October 7 at which time Mrs. Esther Owsley, Grand Deputy and Doris Groves, Grand Worthy Advisor will visit Ruth Assembly. Light refreshments were served by Diane Van Horn, Sharon Becket and Nancy Ferguson. lone Garden Club Makes Plans For Flower Show The lone Garden Club met at at the home of Mrs. Mary Yarnell Tuesday, September 11. The roll call was naming the plants and flowers found in the Bible. Mrs. Omar Rietmahn named the most, 117. Plans were made to hold a flower show Setember 30. It was decided that each member spec ilize in some kind of plant dur ing th next year. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Yarnel and Mis. O..L. Lundell. lone Maranatha Club Held at Ring Home The Maranatha Club met at the home of Mrs. Harvey Ring with Mrs. Larry Fletcher as co hostess. Plans were made and committees were appointed for their dinner and bazaar to be held at the Grange hall, October 13. The club will send a CARE package to Korea and will col lect clothing to be sent to needy people, anyone having .used clothing could leave it at the stores as soon as possible. Re freshments were served by the hostesses. First Heppner O.E.S. Meeting Held Friday Ruth Chapter No. 32 Order of the Eastern Star held their first meeting of the Fall on Friday, September 14. Plans were completed for the officers club card party to be held Saturday, September 22 at 8:00 p.m. At the next regular meeting which is Friday, September 28, the Worthy Grand Matron, Alice Robinson, will pay her official visit to Ruth Chapter. - Mrs. Griffith Reviews "The Bend" at Club The study meeting of the Topic Club of lone was held at the home of Mrs. Fannie Griffith Fri day of last week. Mrs. Griffith reviewed the book "Around the Bend" by Shute. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Dixon Smith, Mrs. Algott Lundell and Mrs. Griffith. o Lexington Three Links Club Met Thurs. The Three Links Club met at the home of Mrs. Annie Keene last' Thursday. There were six 'members present, and work was planned for the visit of the presi dent. Lovely refreshments were ser ved after the meeting. Or ALL SAINTS WOMAN'S AUX. HOLD BUSINESS MEETING The Women's auxiliary of All Saint's Episcopal Church held their' regular monthly business meeting in the Parish Hall, Thursday, Sept. 14. There was no hostess for that day and light refreshments were served at the close of the meeting. Church Women Pay Official Visit The women's auxiliary of All Saint's Episcopal church held a potluck dinner Wednesday eve ning In the Parish hall. This meeting was for Mrs. Ray. mond Reeves, President of the W. A. for the district of eastern Oregon, who was making her official visit. Coming with her was Miss Hazel Morrison, Unit ed Thank Offering worker for the district. Her work is especially with the young people. Both wo men are from Klamath Falls. There were about twenty mem. bers present for the dinner and meeting. The tables were lovely with colorful asters as the center pieces. This dinner is to take the place of the regular second meet ing of the month. ' Andersons Honor House Guests With Buffet Dinner , Mr. and Mrs. Harley Anderson entertained with a buffet dinner Saturday night in honor of their guests' Mr. and Mrs. James O'Neil of Weott, California. Those pre sent were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Becket, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Becket and Ronnie, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Becket, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Becket and Sharon and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Pettyjohn.
