Present were Mrs. Frank Ayers, Mrs. C. E. Lynch, Mrs. Roy El liott, Mrs. Blanch Brown, Mrs. Verlan Matthews and Mrs. J. C. Payne. Games were played with prizes being received by Mes dames Elliott, Ayers and Lynch. Refreshments were served. Three tables of pinochle and one table of canasta were in Dlav. Mrs. Don Hatfield received high score in pinochle and Mrs. Russell O'Don nell low; high in canasta was re ceived by Mrs. Paul Hisler. Heppner Marine's Marriage Told Of interest to local friends is the announcement of the mar riage of Mrs. Mary Lou Lane to Cpl. James Wagner of the U. S. Marines. The wedding was an event of Thursday, July 26 at Santa Ana, California where Cpl. Wagner is stationed.-The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. u. u. Haguewood. Ewing at tended the Adventist Camp meet ing at Gladstone, Oregon a few days last week. Mrs. Claud Coats motored to Seattle Friday accompanied by Mrs. Frank Cole and grandson as far as Olympia. Miss Wanda Needles left Sat urday for a two weeks vacation with her mother at Silverton, lone "Stitcherettes" 4- HClub Meet The "Stitcherettes", 4-H Cloth ing Club with members from the lone community, met last Friday at the L. A. McCabe farm home near lone. Main topic of the meeting was reports given by the girls who attended 4-H Summer School and County Club Camp during the month of June. Judy Howton reported on the three day camp at Herron Meadows; Dorothy Dobyns reported on the the enjoyable and educational ten days at 4-H Summer School held at Oregon State College, while Elise Baurenfiend reported on her attendance at Girl's State held at Salem, which was filled with good times and education on governments and elections. The girls present inspected each others work, discussed com pletions of projects and made plans for exhibiting at the Fair.
