VISITED SISTER Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Thompson and son Gary were here last week from San Fracisco visiting Mr. Thompson's sister, Miss Esther Thompson. Archdeacon Ne ville Blunt officiating and arrange ments in charge of the Phelps Fu neral Home. Interment was made in the Heppner Masonic cemetery.. In addition to relatives mention ed in the obituary last week, sev eral cousins of the deceased were here from Hermiston to attend the funeral. Included were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Woodward, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Woodward, Robert Wood ward, and Mr and Mrs. Walter Kilcuo. From Pine City were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Struthers who were formerly employed by. the Luckman brothers. BURKENBINE-SUNDQUIST Merle Burkenine and Lavina Sundquist were married in Lewis ton, Idaho, Tuesday afternoon at 4:45 p. m. The young couple were accompanied by Miss Kathryn Burns of Heppner. They went to Kamiah, Idaho, where Merle has a great aunt, Mrs. Lewis Drake, who accompanied them to Lewiston for the cqremony. Mrs. Drake was also present at the wedding of the young groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Burkenbine. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sundquist o Hepp ner. The young people will return here to make their home where Merle is associated with his mo ther and brother in the Heppner Market. Children of the primary depart ment of the Church of Christ are requested by their teachers to be present at the church at 1:30 p. m. Saturday to practice for the Eas ter program. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Marshall ar rived in Heppner Monday from McMinnville to spend the summer here. Keith has .been employed with the county road crew and will drive truck until school opens in the fall.
