FUITEN She-ilT, Morrow County, Oregon 52-4 By MBS. ABTHUB WATKLNS The Wetmore school children are getting along very nicely with their school work. Their spirits remain high despite the snow, rain and mud. We were very sorry to lose one of our star pupils, David Young. David is now enrolled at Crabtree, Ore. and writes that, he has met several new friends and is nicely settled in his home. The 7th grade english class have been writing letters the past week. They have received many pam phlets and recipes. They especially like the pamphlets from the state forest service because they have the forests close at hand to study. The school children gave Mrs. Crowe, their teacher, a peanut shower last Friday. Mrs. Mabel Garrett from Colton Calif, is making an extended visit with her sister, Mrs. L. H. Knowles. Donald Knowles is spending a week's furlough with his parents. Miss Olga Deanne Crowe is visit ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Crowe. Olga Deanne is a sophomore at The Dalles high school. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hall, Mrs. Luther Hall and daughter Sandra Jean motored to Th'e Dalles Friday for a shopping trip and for medical attention. H. R. Kelly returned this week after a very pleasant two weeks vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller re turned from a 10-days visit to Van couver and Olympia Wash, and a few days at Pendleton. Loading at Spur 7 has' been fin ished this week and now they are loading the train from the lake. The weather has been disagreeable enough to make this a hardship on the men who have to stand on the logs in the lake. Dean Moore and family went to Pendleton for a week's vacation. They were accompanied by Mrs. Moore from Pendleton. Carl C Coleman, superintendent of Camp 5, made a business visit here last week. Mr. Coleman is re cuperating from a recent illness." A school birthday party was held for Waneta Betts Friday. Cake and cocoa were served. The pleasant birthday parties, 'sponsored by Mrs. Crows, the teacher, are hailed with delight. Each child is assured one before the term closes. Man or woman wanted for Raw leigh rte. Real opportunity. We help you get started. Rawleigh's dept ORD-101-O, Oakland, Calif.
