Mr. and Mrs. Percy Pryear of Wenatchee were lone visitors last week when they stopped enroute home from a trip to California to visit Mrs. Pryear's aunt, Mrs. Cora Burroughs and other relatives and friends. They left for their home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. William Seehafer entertained the cast of the junior play at their home Monday eve- ning, Jan. 25, with a delcious chick- en dinner. Mrs. A. F. Palmateer and famoly returned Thursday from Estaoada. Mr. and Mrs. Johan Trocdson re- turned home Wednesday, Jan. 27 from San Francisco where they were called by the serious illness of Mrs. Troedson's sister, Mrs. Jen- nie Helmberg. Mrs. Helmberg is still quite ill. Rollo Crawford and Paul Riet mann drove up from Portland Sat urday for a few days visit with their families. The lone high and grade schools basketball teams had a successful week, both teams winning two games each. Lexington News High School Honors Former Students By Mrs. Maxims. Grav Lexington high school had a din ner at the school Saturday evening in honor of Joe Way, Leonard MunWs and Albert Edw&rds. Af ter dinner the group went to the school play at lone and then to th? dance. Mrs. W. C. Van Winkle, Mrs. L. A. Palmer and Mrs. Robert Wilcox of Hermiston accompanied J. J. Nys to Salem on a business trip the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Van Winkle spent Tuesday afternoon at the Lawrence Palmer home.; Mrs. Pal mer was sick the first of the week. 'Mr. and Mrs. George Allyn have had word from their son, Pvt Lyle Allyn. He is now in North Africa. Mrs. Trina Parker has been ill at her home for the past several weeks. She is much improved now and is able to be up and around. Willie Steagall wrecked his car on Tuesday of last week. Fortunately he escaped uninjured. Saturday visitors at the George Allyn home were Mrs. Elsie Cow ins and daughter Rae. Mrs. Everett Crump of Hermis ton spent the week-end here with H.r folks, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Breshears. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jones left here on Monday for Hermiston where they will make their home. Mr. Jones ha-; employment there. They have been visiting at the Ted McMillan ranch. Last Friday evening the Lexing ton basketball team motored to Echo to play the Echo team. Roger Campbell spent Friday night with Eugene Marshall. John Miller spent several days this past week home from his job in Portland. Miss Doris Klinger spent the week-end at home from her duties at the ordnance depot in Hermis ton. Bennie Howe of Heppner was in Irrigon looking after the Red Cross drive. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Terry and little daughter spent from Sunday to Tuesday visiting his mother, Mrs. G. M. Terry. Mrs. Henry Miller is ill and Mrs. Hazel Steagall is taking her placC at the Lorenzen Cafe. Glen O'Brien has completed his house and has moved into the kitchen. Earl Comt.ll is building on his house.
