Also EYES OF THE NAVY
By DR. WM. C. STRAM, O. D.
This Joe Louis box fighting situa
tion is rapidly becoming more ser
idus than a glow worm on the shady
side of a sun dial. Mike Jacobs
seems to be having trouble finding
anyone who can give the Brown
Bomber anything more than a light
perspiration. Every "fighter" who
has faced Joe in recent months has
gone down easier than an oyster
in olive oil. It begins to look like
the only contender who can hang
a kayo on Joe Louis is old Father
Time but before that happens the
old gent with the scythe will have
a few more good fights under his
belt or else he's out of luck.
A San Francisco child swallowed
half a ackage of red dye. Examin
ing doctors found him to be in the
pink of condition.
And proving that time is the es
sence of all things, there are the
two boys who stole a car in Hepp
ner last Thursday night. Starting
down the road at 95 miles an hour
it took them less than 24 hours to
reach the penitentiary.

TROOP 61
BOY SCOUTS
OF AMERICA
Because of conflicting dates, the
annual parents and sons banquet
has been postponed till such a time
as a Court of Honor can be held in
connection with it.
A lack of display of the Flag of
the United States was evident on
the Twelfth. Sam Sato and Herbert
Schunk turned out for the raising of
the Flag at the City pole.
Sam Sato's Hyenas were well rep
resented at the last troop meeting.
Except for one other patrol leader,
the rest were very conspicuous by
their absence.
Plans are under way for an inter
patrol contest. The main feature of
the contest will be the building of
patrol dens. The patrol with the
best den receives an extra number
of points in the contest
Committeeman Ray Kinne was a
visitor at the meeting. We appre
ciate his interest.
