Correspondent WHma Myers fell from a horse Sunday afternoon and broke both bones in her right arm. She was riding near the Agee ranch at the time of the accident She was tak en to the Hermiston hospital where the bones were set and where she remained overnight A number of children in the community have received injuries during the past few years by falling from their horses. Mr. and Mrs. Myers and Margaret and Mrs. I. Skoubo and Frances motored to Hermiston Monday and brought Wilma home. Mrs. Roy Rands' mother, Mrs. Mary Hiatt and sister, Mrs. T. B. Stanford and husband from Milton. Freewater came Tuesday to visit at the Rands home. On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Stanford motored to Portland. Mrs. Hiatt remained here with her daughter. A lovely dinner was enjoyed Sun day at the VVilbanks home, given in honor of Ada Wilbanks' birth day. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Chandler and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Turner, and Mr. and Mrs. Carrick and family. Mr. and Mrs. Heck and family of Seattle visited last week at the O. H. Warner home. Mrs. Heck is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. War ner. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Barlow and Chloe, Mrs. Claud Coats and Echo, and Geraldine and Josephine Hea ley motored to Heppner Thursday to attend the Rodeo. They return ed home Sunday. Mr. Barlow, dep uty sheriff, assisted Sheriff Bau- man during the Rodeo. Mrs. Coats of Hardman accompanied them home Sunday and will visit for a time at the Claud Coats home. W. O. King spent several days in Eugene last week, visiting with his father. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Montag and family of Hood River visited last Tuesday at the Wilson home. The Montags are moving to Eight Mile, south of Arlington, where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Messenger and family who have been living at Vale, moved to Boardman last week and will make their home in the Stewart house in town. Mrs. Marschat's mother, Mrs. W. J. Tackhan, is visiting at the L. E. Marschat home this week. Week-end guests at the Roy Rands home were Mrs. John Tich nor, Mrs. Daisy Blanchard, Miss Manda Hamilton, and Mrs. Arden Mench of Portland. They motored on to Echo Sunday and returned to their home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Cox and Irene, Dale and Jesse of Yakima motored to Boardman Sunday. Mr. Cox re turned home in the evening and Mrs. Cox and family will remain here until Mr. Cox is permanently located. The children 'will enter school here. Mrs. Claude Bailenger spent the week end in Boardman. Maxlne, who has been visiting here during the summer months, returned to The Dalles with her mother Mon day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Farley and family enjoyed the Rodeo at Hepp ner Saturday. A number of the young folks at tended the dance in Heppner Sat urday evening. A bridal shower was given for Mis. Delano at her home Thursday afternoon. The bride received a number of pretty and useful gifts. A dainty lunch was served late in the afternoon. Claud Bailenger was a business visitor in Pendleton last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Barlow and Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Messenger and Rena June and Franklin attended the Rodeo Saturday. Kenneth Nottingham of Portland, grandson of Mrs. Lottie Atteberry, visited at the Price home last week. Miss Mabel Brown left Saturday for Lyle, Wash. Robert Becker and friend of Longview visited last week at the Bates home. Leo Root went to Corvallis Sun day and returned home Monday Mrs. L. V. Root, Mrs. Al Macom- ber and family, and Mrs. M. E. Root who have been there for the past week returned home with him. F. I. Brown was a Boardman vis itor last week. J. F. Gotham and Jess Mathie were Pendleton visitors Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Hobert Helms of lone were dinner guests at the Ves Atteberry home Sunday. Mrs. Edmonds and daughter Syl- vania were visitors on the project last week. Miss Edmonds will teach school this year near Corval lis. Charles Goodwin sprained his back Piturday while hauling wood. He wa ., taken to The Dalles to consult a doctor. A. T. Hereim sold his ranch this week to T. Hunt of Blalock. Mr. Hereim will have an auction sale Thursday to dispose of his house hold goods. He and his son plan to leave soon for the east Jim Rose and family who have been living on the Kelly place for some time have moved and are liv ing with John Hall. Dcherty attended the Rodeo Saturday afternoon at Hepp- r. Miss Wilma McCarty of Butter creek visited at the home of Miss Audrey Moore Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs. Pat Curran took in the Heppner Rodeo Saturday after noon. Bill Doherty returned home on Tuesday after his trip to Omana, Nob. The Alpine grade and high school took in the Rodeo at Heppner n dav afternoon. They were accom panied by the teachers, Mrs. Marie Clarv and Miss Rosella Doherty. With them were also Mrs. Dan Lindsay, III Clary, Mrs. Bert Mich el, Willard Hawlcy and the pupus of the Strwaberry school. Mrs. John Kilkenny visited the Frank Kilkenny home last week. Miss Katherine Doherty is now in Portland visiting friends and relatives. The Strawberry school opened Tuesday with the same enrollment as last year, except for the ab sence of Doris Klinger who is now a freshman in the Alpine school Miss Nora McDaid is teaching the Strawberry pupils again this year. Mrs. Margaret Peddicord left Wednesday evening to visit her daughter, Mrs. Bert Senter of Port land. Mrs. John Moore, her daughter Audrey, her son Johnnie and Mar garet Howard spent the afternoon at Heppner where they attended the Rodeo. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Klinger and family were at the Heppner Rodeo Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill McDaid visited the Michels Sunday evening. Mrs. Anna Schmidt and son Al fred were seen at the Rodeo Satur day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wiggles worth attended the Rodeo at Hepp ner Saturday. With them were Mr. and Mrs. Burl Wattenburger of Butter creek. Mrs. Pearl Lambirth, whose for mer home was near the Alpine school, moved to Hermsiton last week. Her daughter Doris has en rolled in the Hermiston school. Misses Peggy and Camilla Kil kenny were at the home of Mrs. John Kilkenny over the week end, during which time they attended the Rodeo at Heppner. Bill Geiger spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of Bert Michel. Miss Elsie Strain who has just returned from her visit to Idaho, where her parents live, will remain a pupil of the Pine City high school.
