Mr. and Mrs. Houghton were guests Saturday evening at the Dan Ransier home. Chas. Wicklander broke his arm Friday while cranking his Ford. He ;s under Dr. Rowe's care of Hermis ton. Mr. Mefford went to Yakima Sun day for another load of apples. Mr. and Mrs. John Brice went to Hermiston Saturday to attend the district convention of the Rebokah. Mr. Kingsley of Hermiston was in Boardman Friday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Agee and Emma and Mrs. Dan Ransier were in Pendleton Friday. The Agces took Emma for Medical treatment. Thursday night Boardman people were entertained by a road show. Wednesday, Oct. 26, proved to be a real community day for the Grange and other Boardman people. In the morning a cement foundation was placed under some historic Indian rocks that are along the highway. At noon the home economics club served the dinner to a large crowd. Many Hallowe'en stunts were played during ihe day. Several out of town visitors attended the meeting. J. E. Calavan of Salem, supervisor of club work. Mr. Marschatt and Mrs. Walker, county school superintendent, also spoke on club work. Robl. Mitchell and wife returned from Goldendale, Wash., where be d iivered some honey and visited his 3011 and family. The Misses Bessie and Frances An derson of Portland spent a few days at the C. S. Calkins home. Ed Williams and Mr. Hartley of Walla Walla stayed overnight Fri day at the Hereim home on their way home from Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ransier spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Houghton at Irrigon. Tne bazaar committee of the Ladies Aid met at the home of Mrs. L. G. Smith Friday to make arrangements for the bazaar to be held December 2. The Macomber home entertained a bunch of the youngsters with a Hal lowe'en party Saturday evening. I. Skoubo and family were dinner guests at the Nels Kristenson home Sunday. Mrs. Geo. Spring and Mrs. Faler were tn Hermiston Monday shopping. Mondry evening a large erowd gathered at Root's new building and enjoyed a free dance. The music was furnished over the radio. Mr. and Mrs. Blayden and Mrs. C. C. Paine returned from Idaho Sun day. Mrs. Blayden's brother, Fred Coskey, returned with them. Mr. Coskey spent last winter at the Blay den home. Paul Smith and family spent Sun day at the Pender home. Mrs. Dan Ransier entertained Sat urday evening at a Hallowe'en party. Saturday, Oct. 29, a group of young sters gathered at the Kunze home to help Frank celebrate his 8th birth day. After playing games the young sters were invited into a darker room where they were given a Hallowe'en lunch by the light of large jack-o-lanterns and a birthday cake lighted by 8 candles. Mrs. Kunze was assist ed by Mrs. Myers and Mrs. Ransier. I. Skoubo and Paul Smith received new Home Comfort ranges this last week. Mrs. Packard and Mrs. Spagle are spending this week in Portland. in 'mm Nmprar Union. 1927 if " Wurn Her guests were Mr. and Mrs. Pack ard, Mr. and Mrs. J. Gorham, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Spring, Mr. and Mrs. Houghton, Mrs. Faler and Mr. Ras mer. Mr, and Mrs. Imus are leaving on Tuesday for a visit at Lyle, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mead were guests at the Gorham home Sunday evening for dinner. Miss Beougher entertained a group of young people at the church Friday evening with a Hallowe'en party. Dr. Donnelly has purchased a small band of sheep of Geo. Shane and placed them on his ranch. H. H. Weston is enjoying a visit with some old time friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Carter, Mrs. Eck Warren returned from Springfield, Ore., Sunday and brought her nephew home with her. Mr. and Mrs. Imus and daughter, Mrs. Davis, spent Sunday at the Claude Myers home. Mrs. Ray Brown and Mabel spent the week end visiting her daughter Catherine who is teaching at Cleve land, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gorham and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Smith spent Thurs day in Pendleton. Nick Faler went to Portland Fri day to attend the stock show and visit relatives, Miss Henry, 3rd and 4th grade teacher, entertained her room Mon day with a Hallowe'en party. All reported a jolly time. Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Tester left on Monday for California and were ac companied by Mrs. Tester's parents irom Colorado. Mr. Tester has been employed by Mr. Ballenger for the past year. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Rands were in Hermiston Monday. Misses Falk and Leathers were in Arlington Saturday, Mr, and Mrs. J. C. Ballenger were in The Dalles Saturday on business. The home economics club will be entertained by Mrs. John Brice at her home Wednesday, Nov. 9th.
