C. Extension Service Divis ion of Agricultural Economics on in formation from U. S. D. A. and other sources.) WOOL. Gradual expansion of de mand for wool was indicated by the trade of last week, although manufac turers continue to restrict purchases to immediate requirements. The mar ket is a little firmer on foreign spots wools as a result of recent demands from abroad. MOHAIR. The bulk of the south west clip is reported sold at private cale after all offers at sealed bid sales had been refused. Prices in Texas averaged about 53 cents on grown hair and 63 cents for kid hair. SEEDS. Prices on most seeds con tinued to decline during the week ending April 16. Demand for red clover fell off sharply and prices av , eraged $1.55 per hundred pounds low er. Alsike snared the weakness, and white clover demand was poor to fair. Demand for alfalfa seed was active at sustained price levels. Orchard and rye grass seed prices were little changed, but hairy vetch advanced slightly. HAY. Markets are seasonbly dull with little change. Stocks are not large but pastures are excellent and domestic and export shipping demand is limited. FEED GRAINS. Higher prices for oats and corn resulted last week from delayed oat seedings and limited mar ket offerings of corn. Barley prices advanced on scanty market arrivals coupled with improved domestic de mand for feed barley and brewing barley for export. RYE. Thj rye market held steady with limited export demand. WHEAT. Weather conditions dom inated the wheat market last week and prices remained firm. Spring seeding is delayed and lower tem peratures have prevailed over tht domestic winter wheat belt. Foreign markets were firm with southern hem isphere shipments moderate. More North American wheat is expected to move soon with the opening of the lakes. Domestic demand was moder ate with better grades drawing at tention from millers. BUTTER. Markets were unsettled and sensitive last week. Storage stocks are low, with little new butter bought for storage. Operators antici pate the usual spring decline and are avoiding surplus stocks. Production is increasing slightly and receipts are expected to increase when the roads in many of the producing sec tions dry up, the trade expects con siderable low grade butter from de layed cream. Foreign butter impor tation in any volume is not believed probalbe. Prices declined only slight ly at San Francisco last week. It is njw generally thought that the stor age basis will be somewhat higher than last year. LIVESTOCK. Some reaction from recent activity took place last week in livestock markets. Heavy, fed cat tie were not quite so strong at times and light weights were weaker, with supplies somewhat increased in runs. Stockers and feeders were scarce on the markets and prices held up well. Demand is still strong for weighty cattle. The hog market took one of the sharpest declines in many months in Chicago. Markets for sheep and lambs were generally slow, but clip ped lambs reached the highest point of the year in Chicago at the week's opening. Spring lamb movement is expected to be early and in consider able volume. HOW DID WE GET OUR OLD TES TAMENT? This is certainly a question con cerning which all Christians ought to be well informed. If we are to rely upon the Bible we ought to know much concerning its source as well as its contents. This theme will be discussed at the Church of Christ on Sunday eve ning. The morning preaching hour will mark the beginning of the study of a new book. We request that the first chapter of the Ephesian letter be studied in preparation for this. Remember the Bible school and the Christian Endeavor society. MILTON W. BOWER, Minister. CARD OF THANKS. To our many friends, and to all who in every way go kindly assisted us during the long illness of our be loved wife, mother and sister, we take this means of extending our sin cere thanks.
