Some of the business men tried to get such a scheme through the last session of the legislature, but it was defeated. The town has grown rapidly during the past Tear. It is estimated thete are from 300 to 400 residents. The rab bit cannirg factory and new lumber company adds to activity. Some of the cttizeus are carrying on strong agitation for a new s hool build ing. The present one is ol J and rather cold for the children in tbe winter time. Several n onths ago the question of is suing $1,500 bonds for the construction of a now building was carried, but there was a defect somewhere and another election will be held December 12, at which time the amount of the proposed bonds will be increased to $3000. The foundation of the preposed build- ins was started when tbe question of the nrst bona issue carried, ana wat completed, but the work bad to be topped.
