Funeral From Congregational
Church in lone
Ernest Montandi n died in the
Hood River Hospital at 4 A. M
Feb. IS, 1930, at the age of 69
years. 8 months and 25 days.
Fnneral services were held in
lone, from the Congregational
church, Feb. 17, and Interment
was made in the I 0. 0. F. cem
etery at this place.
Mr Montanden was born in
Canton Berne, Switzerland, May
21, 1861. In company with a twin
brother, he came to America in

Arkansas where they engaged in

his life by drowning. Mr. Montan
den came to Oregon in 1899 and
spent the rest of his days in lone.
He will be greatly missed in our
little city. He was a friend to
everyone, loyal and true He was
an earnest Christian and a faithful
member of the Congregational
Church. He was a great lover of
beauty, taking especial delight in
flowers which he grew in profusion
apout his home and shared liber
ally with his friends.
He leaves to wourn his death
a sister and a brother, living in
Switzerland, six cousins, Louis,
Paul, Arnold, John and Fred Bal
siger and Mrs. Charley Allenger,
and a host of friends.
The funeral services were In
charge of Rev, W. W. Head, pas
tor of the Congrgational Church.
The floral offerings were many
and beautiful. The six Rietmann
brothers, Victor, Werner, David'
Otto, Robert and Omar acted as
pall bearers.

Whereas, it is theopinion of the
County Court of Morrow County,
in regular session, on this 14ih
lay day of February, 1930, that
the the waiving of the penalty
and part of the interest on unpaid
taxes for the year 1927 ana the
years prior to 1927, would faci i
tute the collection of such unpuid
taxes in said County.
It is therefore hereby ordered
that all penalties on unpaid and
delinquent taxes for the ytar
