WHEAT EXPORTS INCREASE In ten months since the cereal export season opened there have been 239 vessels carrying 36 785' 061 dushels of wheat, valued at $ 17. 546,887, in tht Portland wheat expert trade, according to a state ment of the Trafic department ol the Port of Por-land Commis sion. This was a substantial increase over the wheat exports for the Columbia River district during the entire seasons of 1926 27 and i 1925- 26. During the 1926-27 sea son, 28,383.000 bushels went from the river, while During the previous season shipments total ed 17.832,000 dushels. It is reorted that the Pacific! Tel. & Tel. Co. will spend $3,500, 000 in Oregon this year. Portland Electric For Co. plans to expend several million1 dollars in Oregon during the' nxt few years.
