and one-half pound of shelled and

tesapnonful of soda and pour out Into
well buttered pun. When cold break
up Into pieces.
Butterscotch PI. Tak on and
one-half cupful of brown sugar, on
nd onc-hnlf cupful of water and
bring to th boiling point Pour over
thre tablespootiful each of Sour,
cornstarch and augar well mixed, then
cook uutll thick. Add the slightly
beaten yolk of two egg and cook a
mlnut longer. Itemovs from th Br,
add three tablespooofula of butter,
on tessMmnful of vanilla, and a
plncb of salt Pour Into a baked shell
end cover with a meringue, using tin
egg while, a plncb of baking powder
and four tablespooofula of augar.
Chicken Msrlngo, Tak a four or
five-pound chicken, drew, clean and

Mlt pepper and flour, fry quickly to
a frying pan until brown. Itemove th

and two cloves of garlic weft minced

spoonfuls of flour and brown. Add

a teaapoonful of pepper, on teaspoon-
fill of paprika, two cupful each of

mato. Cook until slightly thickened

Cream of Mushroom Soup. Peel

pint of boiling water over a half cup
ful of corn meal, add two tableapoon

molasses, on teaapoonful of Mlt and
Dili well Let stand until lukewarm
and add a yeaat cuke dissolved In
two tiibleapoonful of warm water,
beat to about alx cupful of flour, let
rls until light, put Into muffin pans,
let rlt again and bnk In a hot oven

at night la ready for breakfast muf
fins. Th recipe make one dozen and

oil with one-half, teurpoonful of
vinegar.
