Prile is at the bottom of
great mistakes.
-John Ruskin
eveninJIiymn
The day thou gavest. Lord, U
ended,
The darkness falls at thy he
heat;
To Thee our morning hymns
ascended,
Thy praise shall hallow now
our rest.
We thank that thy church un
sleeping, While earth rolls onward inti
light.
Through all the world hei
watch is keeping
And rests not now by day oi
night.
As o'er each continent and is
land
The dawn leads on another
day,
The voice of prayer is never,
silent,
Nor dies the strain of praist
away.
The sun that bids us rest if
waking.
Our brethren .neath the west
ern sky,
Aud hour by hour fresh lips arc
making
Thy wondrous doinys heard on
high.
So be it, Lord; thy throne shall
never,
Like earth's proud empires,
pass away,
But stand and rule and grow
forever,
Till all thy creatures own thy
way.
J. Ellerton
