Governor Davis of Idaho empha sizes the need of reclamation in the hme. and intimates home and church are losing their control. To overcome this national weak ness he makes an appeal to parents to correct the ideas of wastefulness and extravagance begot by war. Family life must return to a sane and conservative basis and we must let up in making criminals by rais ing children in idleness. Fathers and mothers must spend more time with their own children instead of turning them over to the schools, clubs and streets to raise. Habits of industry can only be ac quired by boys and girls when par ents work w ith them instead of giv ing them money to spend in pleasures. Honest labor and habits of savine w ill form more character than scold ing, lecturing and passing laws to safeguard youth. We have got to get back to the principle that there is only one hon est way to get money and have it to spend and that is by service render ed. Reclamation of the home must be founded upon industry, and all the schemes to bring up young people without working are doomed to fail ure. The public schools must give more time to manual training, teaching trades and occupational work instead of cramming textbooks and sharpen ine wits. An enduring constitution, good common sense and sound moral character are impossible without ap plied industry and earning before spending. Tax Revision, Reform and Re duction. Taxation is one of the most per plexing of our domestic problems There must be an immediate revision in our tax laws in order to more equitably distribute the burden and to lift in whole or in part the more onerous and discriminatory taxes which now depress enterprise and re strict production. The important consideration for the future is relief by way of tax reform, tax revision and tax reduction. The road which leads to it is that of economy in pub lie expenditures. It's about the same way with batteries. Their usefulness depends on the care they have had, the amount of work they have had to do, how they have been used, and most important of all on the original quality of the battery.
