The Conference had the hearty sup port of the people of Heppner. as they entertained the visiting boys In their homes. A banvtiet was also given to the boys of the conference by the j Heppner brotherhood. I Don Case, of Heppner, was elected ! president of the conference, Edward j Evens of Pilot Rock, vice-president, j A I, McMillan of Heppner. secretary,! and George Tucker of Lexington, ser- i geant at arms. These officers gave every help to the speakers, and carried the conference to a successful ending. All of the meetings were held In the Federated church, except the last one on Sunday ntcht. which was held In the Christian church and was open to the public. Mr. Tount. Interstate Boys' Secre tary, gave a short talk to the high school students last Friday. He gave a brief outline of the protrram of the boy's conference and then told us of the good to be got from the conference. He pave illustrations of how one little idea might be worth thousands of dol lars and how the conference might help one to get this Idea, Amid howling storms of. "Well why didn't they tell us?", "Why, my hair just looks awful!" and "Hey, Lizzie, can I get behind you? You're taller!" the entire school and teachers had thir pictures taken in front of the buiVtine last Monday morning. We were afterwards told to go to the movies on Monday, October 24, If we wished to see ourselves "on the screen." Juicing from the number of groans and siehs made by the Sophomore English class, we Juniors take It they are just be;ne initiated into the degree of Oral English. We were very glad to And that the majority of the conference boys showed an interest in our school and the work we are doing. Several of the Lexing ton delegates were in the school all day Friday.' Keith Logan, Clyde Witcraft and Carl Cason are ttw charter members, but they expect more boys to be eligible for member ship after each game. The Fhysics laboratory has been en joying a house cleaning and it now presents a much better appearance. The hiph school chorus has adopted a new song, which is to be sung at ev ery game. The name of it is "Team o' Mine." and it is a parody of "Mam my o' Mine," Several of our students, this year, have come from various parts of the United States. We have new students from Missouri. Kansas and Virginia. Our high school seems to be getting Quite popular.
