HiKh upon the mountain on a rimy lit tle rim Where the trees were thick and shady and the light was kind of dim. And the interlacing brandies or the thickets dark and still Kept all creatures from disturbing ac tivities of Moonshine Rill; Ity dint of heavy labor and of persever ing will lie had brought a worm and boiler and erected him a still; He had lugged up prunes and raisins through the bushy, branchy way. And then with some provisions he was all prepared to stay. And by some maic process from his steaming corn meal mash. He distilled a sort of whiskey he could turn to real cash. Of an evening purple shadows would come slipping o'er the hill. Then the moon beams, they made moon shine at the still of Moonshine BIIL Said the sheriff, one fine morning, T guess It's up to me To go and find some shiners, and bring in two or three; So he took his little twenty-two to capture or to kill. And he went straight out Investigating the retreat of Moonshine BIIL This Moonshine Bill lay musing; with his head upon a rim. And thought upon a lot of things of Interest to him, "Now some day Til pull out of here with a pocket full of cash And go way down to Arlington and make an awful splash. Why I may go clear to Portland, where there's lots of things to see. And a roaring, ranting, ripping, reck less devil I will be; I'll buy myself an aeroplane to peddle out my booze, I'll wear two hundred dollar suits, and fifty dollar shoes; And HI buy a little speedster for my girl across the hill. And later then a diamond ring." thus mused Moonshine Bill. Just then the sheriff's twenty-two peaked round the only trail. And Bill came to attention while he looked a trifle pale; Re suddenly remempered with a hur ried look about When there's only one way In there's only one way out So his trip was spoiled to Portland, and no one would go his ball. So he spent his time of splurging round the halls of Heppner Jail; Only once he heard from Annie, hla girl across the hill. She had found an honest farmer she preferred to Moonshine Bill. "Dear Bill," she wrote, Tra sorry we were to be married soon. But I do not think the Jail's the place to Bpend our honeymoon; I have another sweetheart, he Is rather short of kale. Rut anyhow he's honest and he's never been in Jail; I sure did like you Blllle, and thought you quite a man. But I have no use for hooch-hounda, Good-bye, forget me" Ann. "Aw, riosh," sighed Moonshine Blllle; this Is a tough old world, Tou can't bank on the constancy of any dnggone girl; They're a complex proposition, and have no real regard For enterprising shiners, who find hard work too hard." Tliirh upon the mountain, on a rimy lit tle rim, Beneath the fir tree thicket, the lights are soft and dim. And moonbeams they are plenty and moonshine if you please, Hut It's all distilled In heaven, and fil tered through the trees. Medium) Into crankcase through filler pipe to bring level of oil to upper oil drain cock lo cated on side of combination flywheel housing and oil reservoir. The oil level should not be allowed to rise higher than the upper oil drain cock, nor to drop lower than the lower oil drain cock. If too much oil has been poured Into the crankcase during filling, the upper drain coch should be left open until all surplus oil has drained out to that level. The motor should not be operated except with both upper and lower oil drain cocks closed. To get correct Indication of oil level, the auto-, mobile ahould be approximately level, and the engine not running. At regular Intervals, as recommended by the manufacturer, or In the absence of such Instructions, every 7E0 miles, the oil In the crankcase reservoir should be entirely renewed In the fol lowing manner: First, remove drain , plug In bottom of flywheel housing, al-1 lowing all oil to drain. This should! preferably be done when the engine la warm, as the old oil when heated will ; drain faster, and less of It will adhere to the inner surfaces of the crankcase. Next, replace drain plug and pour four quarts of Calol Flushing Oil Into the crankcase through filler pipe. Then start and operate the engine under Its own power at a moderate Idling speed for from one to two minutes, by which time all oil paasagea and Inner surfaces will have been cleansed by the action of the flushing oil. The oil reservoir is now clean, but the splash troughs un der the connecting rods are still filled with a mixture of flushing oil and old engine oil. To clean out these troughs leave plug out of bottom of oil reser voir and pour In sufficient fresh Zero lene Oil through the filler pipe to dis place this dirty oil, which will be Indi cated by a flow of clean fresh oil com ing out of the plug hole below. When certain that all flushing oil has been drained from the crankcase, replace the drain plug and pour Into the filler pipe sufficient fresh oil to fill reservoir to proper level.
