An inspection of the JiThrft Day Highway will be made by the com missioners and the trip will be extend ed through Grant and I'aker counties, much of which it will be necessary to make on horseback. This will wind up the inspection tour of the commission ers, which will Include all the high ways of the state. At the May meeting of the commission, the advertising of bids on the grading of the Lexington gap and other work on the Oregon Washington Highway to the east of Heppner, will be authorised. Mr. Bar ratt aspects that this work will soon be under way, as It will not take a great while to complete the necessary legal procedure before the contracts are let. Judge W. . Dutton Is up from Port land for a visit of a week or so, while attending to business matters here. Mr. Duttnn still has large land holdings in and around Heppner.
