Mrs. Weltba Conibert spent Sunday afternoon visiting at The Highway House. Mrs. Henry Springer' and family of The Poplars were visiting at Butterby' Flats on Tuesday. Herbert Everett of Pilot Rock was visiting with J. M. Melton at The Lookout on Friday. P. M. Melton of The Lookout vis ited at Windynook, the home of W.O. Palmateer on Saturday. S. Quale of lone and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Vinton of the same place were callers in Cecil on Sunday. Mrs. Phil Brady of lone and friend Miss M. Cherry of Portland were call erg at The Last Camp on Friday. Miss Georgia Summers of The Last Camp visited at the home of Mrs. Phil Brady near lone on Saturday. R. E. Duncan of Busy Bee ranch and friend T. Leverrett of Board man made a short visit in Cecil on Sunday. Miss Lois Easterly of Parkdale ar rived in Cecil on Monday to take up her duties as teacher of t he Kour inlle school. Miss Mildred Henrlksen of Rhea left on Thursday for Can by where she will resume her studies for the com ing months. MIbs Roxie Yount of lone spent Saturday and Sunday at The Last Camp as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Oeo. KrebB. Glen KesterBen and Lester Good rich who are working at Falrview ranch for Everett Logan, spent Sun day In lone. Miss Zella Kelly of Hood River arrived on Saturday and took up ber duties as teacher on Monday at the Cecil school. Ten pupils were en rolled. Dwlght Mlsner left on the local for Portland Tuesday, where he will visit for a short time, but will rush back for the first call for "Dreams' at the 8tender lawn party. Leon Logan of Eight Mile bought a Ford truck In Arlington during the week and expects to break the record in the number of sacks delivered at Cecil warehouse when he begins to Inul bis wheat. W. O. Palmateer and daughter, Miss Cleta of Windynook are busy hauling their wheat to Minor & Hynd warehouse, and the Slender boys are also bringing In their wheat, which we hear la the finest Bample yet of Turkey Red brought into Cecil. Herbert Hynd of Rutterby Flats left on Sunday for Heppner, return ing home Thursday accompanied by his uncle, W. G. Wil son for The Willows. Cecil community has been the scene of several accidents during the past week. J. W. Osborne had the misfortune to have a nasty fall from his horse and has been severely hurt on one of his shoulders. Everett Logan had bis right hand ' burned with gasoline while attending to some of the machinery on his combine and Lester Goodrich, who is working for Everett Logan at Falrview, had his left foot badly sprained. Latest might have been accident was a young man, name unknown, who was known to purchase several yards or stout rope and when arm ir.it at the 'lonely spot where he had d-i-ided to end his fate, found out i,t; had lust the rope and his cour.ui- also failed at the same time.
