But In "Come Out of the Kitchen," Misa Clark is seen as an aristocratic Virginia girl who finds it necessary to assume the role of a cook, but while her accomplishments In this line are nil, she manages to win the love of a rich Northerner, which, after all, proved the best thing she could have done. The story of the photoplay is a delightful one and it was written by Alice Puer Miller, and plcturiied by Clara Beranger. Word reached here the first of the week of the death of Herbert Barth olomew, a former well known resi dent of this city, at his home In Port land. Mr. Bartholomew was 69 years of age and is survived by Mrs. Barth olomew and two children, Mrs. T. H. West of The Dalles and Nelson Barth olomew of Manilla, P. I. T. J. Humphreys and son Roland left Tuesday on an extended vaca tion trip to the Willamette Valley. They travel by auto and will cross the mountains via McKenzie pass, bunting and fishing as they go along. They expect to be absent until the first of October, at least.
