Mr. Gibbs Jollies the Sheepmen. The following letter from J. W. Gibbs, the trapper has been handed to the Gazette-Times with the request thut we give It publication. Mr. Gibbs was employed by the sheep men of this county to wage a war on the coyotes and bob ca's. "I have been trapping coyotes and cats in the vicinity of Big and Little Butter creeks for the stockmen and regret to state that I have got to lay-off for a spell as I have most of the sheepmen about broke, or at least badly bent. I don't follow the trapping business forthe sport alto gether. It is business with me, a matter of dollars and cents. I am a professional at this trapping busi ness and expect my pay when I get the coyotes and cats. "I have had some trouble In col lecting from some of the Bigners, one gentleman among them refusing to pay, saying that he would rather use the money to buy moonshine. "Therefore I have turned the mat ter over to a wide-awake, reliable at torney. "During the past two months I have brought many a pesky marauder to account, having caught 45 coyotes j und cats within a thirty mile radius! of the John Kilkenny ranch on upper Hinton creek. I took live coyotes in three nights from John Kilkenny's j buck pasture. These coyotes had ! killed many a fine buck for Mr. Kil- j kenny. Mr. J'ji.n certainly appre ciates what I have dune fur him and has paid every cent that a coming without halt ini; an eye. Gentry, Hynd and Wi:;leswri h were all very much Interested in the work I have done. "For every coyote I kill, I receive $M.i! and 4. coyote; at :n.io is a nice little stake for Gibbs and enables li i in to keep up with the high cost of living. I am planning a trip to Sea dde where I expert to enjoy myself on some of the easy money I have picked up. I will admit that I don't make my money altogether by trapping but a good line of talk helps some with Mr. Sheepman, getting him to sign his doom. Good bye all of you until you sell some wool, then I'll drop in and catch another bunch of coyotes and cats. I do hope you fellows will be a little more liberal with your change. J. W.
