NOTICE TO WATER I'BERS Notice is hereby given that owing to the limited supply of water dur ing the dry season,, the Council, at the regular meeting held June 7th, has adopted the following regula tions relating to the use of city water for Irrigation purposes. Beginning on Monday, June 14th, the city will be divided Into thvo districts, being North and South of May Street. The district North of May 8treet begin ning on Monday, June 14th, is per mitted to use the city water on said Monday and every other day there after, and the district South ot May Street on the alternate days. The hours at which the water may be used will be regulated by the Power House whistle and all persons are re quested not to use the water for Ir rigation purposes at any other time, and then they must have a nozzle orj sprinkler attached to the hose. These regulations have been adop-j ted for the benefit of all the citizens, , and any person found using the city I iwater for irrigation purposes at any other time or manner than above pro- SUMMER SCHOOL ILL OPEN AT PENDLETON Pendleton, Oregon, June 5. (Spe cial) An extension summer school of the State Normal School at Mon mouth will be held in Pendleton starting June 21 and lasting for six weeks. The course will be identical with the summer normal course offer ed at Monmouth and the same credits wi:i be allowed. The course will In clude instruction in special methods, educational psychology, physical ttaining, public school music, etc. Ti e tuition charge will be $6.00 for Uk entire course. Announcement of the course at Pendleton was recently made by President Ackerman of the Oregon normal after consultation (with Pen dleton school officials. The purpose In holding the summer school at Pendleton Is to accomodate the East ern Oregon teachers and incidentally to relieve the crowded condition at Monmouth. H. E. Inlow, new superintendent of tiie Pendleton schools, will be direc tor of the summer school. The facul ty will be composed of regular In structors from the normal school faculty at Monmouth and several Eastern Oregon educators of ability. Superintendent Inlow who has been tiwo years with the Pendleton schools was formerly superintendent at For est Grove and is known as one ot the strong school men of the Btate. The summer school at Pendleton will be held In the high school build ing. This is a large, modern struc ture, well equipped In all reBpects. A cafeteria is conducted in the build ing. There are tennis courts on the campus and gymnasium accomoda tions. Pendleton also has a wonder ful public natatorium which twill be available for those taking the sum njer course. The Ellison-White Chautauqua will be held in Pendleton while the sum mer school is in session thus allow ing students opportunity to attend Its programs.
