As appro. mutely 3ih,wv sheep graze in or are triied across tiie VmatiUa National Forest, the importance of prevent. t.g diseased sheep from using these Forrst drneays cn readily be. seen. Orders have been issued to Forest oSU iaU en the Vnuulia National Forest to the elect that no sheep K ill he aiiOed to enter the Forest unless the ovcer can show that his sheep have been recently inspected by a Federal or State inspector and found : to be free from any contagious, in-i lectious. or communicable disease.! As the entire life cycle of the seabi u.i'.e is completed within about fif-! teen days. Forest otScials will require j that inspections be of recent date,; not more than thirty days before the ! time of entering the Forest. Also the owners should see to it that the sheep are not exposed to scabies aite. the time of inspection. It is regretted that the stockmen must be put to this inconvenience, hut some definite action is necessary to protect dwners whose sheep are clean from any chance of contracting scabies in their bands while crossing the Forest. The best way to do this is to require that everyone using the Umatilla Forest driveways have hisj sheep inspected in order to prove that they are free from scabies. Owing to the large number of sheep which must be inspected with in ti e next two months it will b? ex tremely difficult for federal inspectors to cover all of the territory involved owing to their limited force. How ever. Dr. Kxline, of the Bureau of An imal Industry, has agreed to handle the work in Wheeler county, where most of the known cases of scabies exist. Therefore, in order to prevent confusion and duplication of work, every Forest user in Wheeler county should make arrangements with offi cials of the Bureau of Animal ma. try for a federal inspection prior tc the time of entering the National Forest. Dr. W. B. Henneberger and Dr. G. F. Overhulse have been detail ed to handle federal inspection and dipping in Wheeler county. Beginning April 13 they will have headquarters in either Fossil or Mitchell,. All sheep owners in the above county are urged to get in touch with these men and facilitate the work as much as possible. No charge will be made for federal inspection. Certificates of health for stock out side of Wheeler county will be ac cepted (when inspection is made by State officials or veterinarians ap proved by the State Veterinary. Men in charge of sheep must be prepared to show a certificate of in spection to Forest officers in charge of the driveways used by the stock in question. Anyone failing to com ply with this rule will be denied the privilege of entering the Umatilla Na tional Forest, and his stock are li able to be held up until an inspection can be made. e m Vvl a Sue showing will I e ntade. The Whole Secret of A Better Tire Simply a Matter of the Maker's PoBcks This you will realize once you try a Brunswick that a super-tire is possible only when the name certifies that the maker is follow ing the highest .standards. For fire making is chiefly a mat ter of standards and policies cost plus care. Any maker can build a good tire if he cares to pay per fection's price. AH men know Brunswick stand ards, for Brunswick products have been famous for 74 years. Formulas, fabrics and standards vary vastly in cost Reinforce ments, plies and thickness are a matter of expense. And these vari ations affect endurance. It rests with the maker how far he wishes to go how much he can afford to give. For there are no secrets nor pat cats to hold one back. To ascertain what eacH maSef offers one must analyze and test some 200 tires as our laboratories have done. Then it is a matter of combining the best features and building ac cording to the highest standards. Once you try a Brunswick yoa will understand how we have built model tires, regardless ol factory expense. Yet Brunswick Tires cost you the same as other like-type tires. Our saving is on selling cost, through our nation-wide organization. We realize that you expect moK from Brunswicks, and we assure you that you get it ONE Bruns wick will tell you the story. And then youll want ALL Brunswicks. No other tire, youll agree, gives so much for your money. THE BRUNS W1CK-B ALKE-COLLEN DER CO.
