Miss Hazel Winters of "Shady Ie!l" spent Sunday among her Cecu friends. Galen Falkner, v ho is working at Morgan, was doing business in Cecil on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Streeter and family spent Sunday with J. W. Os born at Cecil. C. W. Shurte spent a short time in Cecil on Saturday before leaving for his home in Heppner. Mrs. G. A. Miller of -High view" spent Saturday afternoon with Mrs. Weltha Combest of Cecil. Master Herb and Miss A. C. Hynd of "Butterhy Flats" left on the local on Sunday for Heppner high school. Miss Etta Barnes of "Poplar Grove" visited with Mrs. Geo. W. Krebs at "The Last Camp" on Fri day. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Warfield on the arrival of a fine election. bouncing boy on Wednesday morn ing. The many friends of Walter Pope will be glad to hear he Is now back from The Dalles hospital and feeling much better, but still not able to use his hands. W Gillette, who Is running Everett Logan's tractor on the "Fairvlew" ranch spent Saturday and Sunday in Pendleton. Mr. and Mrs. Karl FarnSworth and family of Rhea spent several days during the past week with their friends in Heppner. Mrs. Harry Linsley and infant of Wasco arrived in Cecil on Wednesday and will visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Crabtree of "Dotheboy Hill" for some time before returning home. Cecil Ahalt of "The Shepherd's Rest" left for lone on Friday with a fine band of efwes and lambs belong ing to Minor and Thompson, which have been wintering around Cecil. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bristow and fam ily and F. Robinson of lone accom panied by Mrs. T. H. Lowe of "The Highway House," Cecil, spent Sun day with the "Mayor" of Cecil at But terby Flats. 0. Lindstrum of lone was calling on his friend Peter Bauernfiend in Cecil on Monday. These gentlemen autoed to lone on Tuesday to attend to business matters In connection with the late Peter Benson's estate. Joe Marcus, who isworking on the Barnett place for E. Fanchier, left on Monday for Pendleton and returned on Thursday with several mules which Mr. Fanchier had bought to work on his ranch. Whit Ewing of Cecil is getting rea dy to put in quite a piece of alfalfa on his homestead near this place. He is also starting several buildings on the place in addition to iwhat he now has, and will make one of the attrac tive little places in this rapidly grow ing neighborhood. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Franklin of Rhea spent Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hynd of "Butterby Flats." We bear that J. H. has sold his ranch during the week to Geo. Henriksen of Canby, a brother of the promin ent Cecil stockman, A. Henriksen of "Willow Creek" ranch. Harry Burke, one of Oskar Huber's men was severely burned on his face ; be (was working around the tractor early on Wednesday morning. Dr. Walker of lone was called and at-; tended his burns.
