OBITUARY.
Mrs. Sarah Benedict was born in
Kites county, Iowa, in the fall of
1872, and moved to Oregon in the
spring of 1885, settling on Butter
creek in Morrow county. She was
married to Mr. W. P. Benedict In
1891.
Mrs. Benedict passed away In this
city at 10 o'clock on June 20th after
an illness of about six weeks. She
left three children to mourn her loss:
Robert O. Benedict of Walla Walla,
Washington; Goldle Hess and Alvln
Benedict of Pendleton. She also
leaves three brothers, Jim Ayers, of Master Gilbert Mahoney, oldest
Butter creek; Wm. Ayers, of Hepp- sou of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Mahoney of

western Washington and part of Ore
gon before they return. They expect
to cross the river at White Salmon
and journey over the North Bank
highway and on up to Tacoma. They
expect to pass through Wenatchee
and other prosperous sections up
north while on their return trip.
They will be gone about two weeks.
