that on the second Monday in Sep
tember (Monday, September 9th,
1918,) the Board of equalization of
Morrow County, Oregon, will attend
at Court House in Morrow County,
Oregon, and publicly examine the
assessment Rolls for Morrow County,
Oregon, for the year of 1918, and
will correct errors in valuation,
description or qualities of land, lots
or other property assessed by the
assessor of Morrow County, Oregon
for the year 1918.
All perons Interested or having
any complaint against their assess
ment for year 1918, should appear
at that time. Petitions for reduction
in assessment must be presented In
writing verified by oath of appli
cant or his attorney, and must be
filed with the board the first week
it is in session and any petition or
application not so made, verified and

FOOD NOTES.
The new flour regulations permit
the purchase of flour on the basis of
SO percent wheat to 20 per cent
substitutes. The substitutes are
barley flour, corn flour, and corn
meal. Feterita flour and meals, rice
flour (not rolled oats,) kaffir flour,
milo flour bean flour, and buskwheat
flour may be used as substitutes.
Kye flour may be used as a substitute
on a basis of two pounds of rye flour
to three pounds of wheat flour.
While the regulations are thus
relaxed considerably, the administra
tion admonishes the people to con-

On that day every man in the
United States and its oosseislon
between the ages of 18 and 45 years,
inclusive, who have not already reg
istered, or who is not already in the
military service, must register.
This includes citizens as well as
aliens. There are no exceptions.
Registration will be held between
the hours of 7 o'clock a m. and 9
c clock p. m. on Registration Day. ,
.Local draft boards will be in full
charge of registration. It is the
duty of the local boards to name the
places for registration, ana to give
proper publicity as to their locations.
However, failure on the part of
any man subject to registration to
learn his proper registration place
will be no excuse for his failure to
register.
Failure to register on Registration
Oay is punishable by imprisonment
up to one year, without option of a
fine.
Men who will be absent from
heme on Thursday, September 12,
should consult the nearest local
board at once for instructions.

' S. W. Spencer and wife and Dr.
R. J. Vaughn and wife visited at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. John Spencer
on lower Butter creek over Saturday
night and Sunday.. On their return
home Sunday evening, Mr. Spencer
met with car trouble and the party
had to be brought to tows by Percy
Jarman.
Geo. J. Currin returned on Mon
day from a visit with his family at
Gresham. Mr. Currin will now drive
a new Franklin car, having' traded
in his Cheverolet for one of the
better class cars while below.
